Thanks for explanation! Yes, I'd lost touch with the variants. Had a monster J version till recently. The "J" versions usually have "Made in Japan" at the bottom of the dial too - I had as Seiko 5 with such a dial Indeed the turtles are good value with a few minor flaws for which Seiko fans can forgive. Had a watch on this guy's review below. and put in an order for a Pepsi bezel too. Minor gripe - Massdrop should also show the rubber strap which comes with beautiful metal keepers - otherwise people will be wondering why they are paying the same price, but without bracelet!

thonggreat video but a very minor error. "Prospex" doesn't mean professional series, it means professional specification.

I missed out on this drop and my parents were in Japan so I asked them to pick one up. It was tough as hell to find either a alpinist or a turtle in all the major seiko stores in Tokyo or Osaka finally they found a Made in Japan SRP773 at a crazy price of 600 dollars retail. The dial says "Made in Japan" but they din't know better about online prices so they bought it at retail minus tax. But to cut short the story these models are a sell out even in Japan where they are sold at retail prices. And at this price on MD it's a no-brainer

themoleMost online retailers in Singapore (creation; vinwatches) have the K and J versions for between $250 and $350. Shipping is usually free. See e.g. http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-prospex-299/seiko-prospex-turtle-automatic-divers-200m-srp773-srp773j1-srp773j-mens-watch-8363.html
