I could possibly be persuaded to get in on this IF the toenail clippers had a convex blade shape. I have one like this that is still cutting like gangbusters after many years. It is starting to develop a few tiny rust spots. Even tho these are overpriced, I would probably take the plunge if this had geometry that I liked.
$26 to buy them individually on Amazon with prime shipping. What's more, they're not even that unique. I don't know what Seki's main product is or how they got their reputation, but if you look around it's easy to find several different brands that offer identical clippers of equal quality. I'm pretty positive these are outsourced by Seki, and the company that outsources them sells them to a wide variety of companies. I bought some from a company called Mr. Green not long ago. In a full travel kit with a bunch of other items, with a rather nice faux leather case, for $36. Go ahead and search Mr. Green on Amazon. The resemblance in the clippers is undeniable. Edit: Oh, actually, I'd go so far as to say the Mr. Green clippers are better. The inside of the fold-out handle has a nail file on it instead of the pointless grooves.
I bought these from Amazon a few years ago. They have a nice solid heft to them and are far and away the best nail trimmers I've every used.

These are very good. Highly recommended.
Bought these for my dad, and he keeps cutting his nails even though he just cut his nails. He keeps telling me to write a review and say the company must make surgical instruments.
Mines are made very close to Japan too! ..they’re from China
These are by far, the best nail clippers I have ever owned or used in my lifetime. Highly recommended.
The description says, "... but with the improved quality that comes from working directly with Seki ". How exactly is the quality improved just by changing the supplier? Are these made differently for Massdrop?

I have the full Seki kit. The tweezers are worth less and the other items aren't really that great quality. While I do like the clippers, I also find they are too small for me and just don't work out. I honestly like my tweezer man clippers better. Not hating but that's just my opinion as an owner of these.
When you say that the stainless steel has been improved, do you mean that Seki added more and/or different alloying elements, or that they changed steel that they were using. My second question is this, what is the steel that they are currently using? Thank you in advance for answering.

Cuts my thick nails (with some irregularities in the surface) like LASER!
Here's one with the clipping catcher, but without the case... for a whopping $18.99!!!

Yeah that seems to be a great deal!
man i wish massdrop would drop the ones with the plastic catchers surrounding it. once you get those, you can't go back
Genuine leather. Ha ha ha ok

Amazing!
Cool clippers. They are very sharp, therefore only a small force needed to use them and that's perfect. Case is NOT made from leather as advertised by MD. It's some kind of leatherette, time will show.

The drop happened Feb 16, 2018 , so i think that was the last time it was dropped. The description was the same btw.

You're right. I got mine, and the case is definitely not leather. Very nice looking and well made though.
Best clippers I’ve ever had. Well worth the $ and the wait
I bought these (without the carrying case) on Amazon a few months ago. I returned them because they weren't worth the money. And that was at $6 cheaper.
Slowest beard trimmer ever.
I just joined this drop. To anyone reading comments, be sure to pay attention to how long ago they were posted. There are lots of comments saying this is not a good deal, but those comments are from many months ago. I just did a quick search, and it looked like this same kit was selling for $42 shipped from the rainforest site; I joined the drop at about $32 shipped. Yes, I have to wait a few weeks, but I don't need the clippers today or tomorrow, so I'm fine with that and saving $10.
I'm looking forward to trying these.
kind of over priced. I get Kai nail or toe nail clippers for about $5 each on sale.
The nail clippers do not fit correctly. The nail cutter blade was also scratched.
12$ on Amazon Prime for the finger nail clipper and the toenail clipper costs 20, I think the only downside is not getting the case? http://amzn.to/2sCAmZT
Would anyone consider this an "upgrade" from the Harperton set?
Ok. Time to update the type of steel it is. MassDrop, please. Here is the message I received directly from Seki. "I don’t know which particular nail clippers the customer is willing to know, so I am telling in case of SS-106 and SS-107. The blade is made with stainless steel, called SUS 420J2. The handle is made with zinc alloy die-cast and chrome plated."
Is this any different from the "Takuminowaza G-3101 - Craftsman Luxury 2-Piece Grooming Kit" on Amazon for $42 w/ free Prime shipping? Looks identical.
I have the seki toenail clippers and they will be the last pair you ever need to own. Read about them on a Q&A and bought a pair at Amazon for $15. The hype is real.

Same, got both the toenail and nail ones. already from Amazon (for about $30 total). I did loads of research and it seems to be the best there is...
probably $5-$10 too much to ever hit 20 sold.

Once you do, you will feel like all those years using store bought was, was a waste of your life. But that's just my opinion on your decision. :D
While i do think the "grooming kit" is for a special kind of sensitive male and a complete waste of money, the clippers themselves are really good.I don't know what product the people complaining are getting but if you look after these you wont need to ever buy another pair of nail clippers.(I got mine on amazon)

More like, taking a saw to your nails versus using a lightsaber on them. :D
CVS is also hiring, go now!
