Have this set--same manufacturer under a different label (if you order a few hundred sets, they'll put your name on the label too). First point: there is absolutely nothing special about these clippers; they don't work any better than any other brand you've used in the past. Second point: you're not really going to use that travel case or the box it comes in--you're just going to pay for them. Final point: You don't need a pair of NASA-Grade nail clippers, there is no such thing as heirloom-grade clippers, all clippers work and the cheap ones sold in the cosmetics department at Walmart do exactly the same thing these do, just as well. All that said, if you are going to fall for the marketing hype of this brand, don't pay more than you have to:

If you have not jumped on board on this drop you're missing out, this clippers are definitely the best, if you're in need of a super nice gift for the holidays for someone that appreciates high quality products this is the drop, plus this is the lowest price I have seen for this kit.

Just got mine from this latest drop and was surprised at how rough the finish is on them. With the fingernail clippers it’s just a matter of aesthetics...looks cheap, not solid and smooth like the ones in the photo...but with the toenail clippers it is more than simply an assault to the aesthetics, there are two wickedly sharp metallic splinters trapped where the leveraging pin anchors to the underside of the clippers. The two metallic burrs are about 3 mm long and razor sharp. I can bend them back and forth but can’t dislodge them. I think they are metal shavings still attached to the body of the clippers where they ground out the hole to run the pin attaching the leverage arm. So disappointed. I bought four sets of these based on all the glowing reviews—one for myself and three for gifts for family. If the other three look like my set, I’d be embarrassed to give them as gifts. :(

First 2 photos show the metal shavings still attached to the backside and interior of the toenail clippers. 3rd photo show the metal filings I was able to pry loose from the clippers. There ended up being a third metal shard that I couldn’t pry out. I just pressed it back in around the post so it wouldn’t be scratching me when I handle the clippers.

(The finish on my clippers almost looks like the silver is painted on the way the surface is bumpy and pocked. It does not at all look like the clean smooth surface of the clippers in the photos in the drop. Mine look poorly made.) I wonder if Seki dumped a batch of “seconds” on Mass Drop?

DublinlinJesus they do look shabby. Unless you get a satisfactory answer from someone, I think I'll cancel my order. Thanks for the heads up.

I could possibly be persuaded to get in on this IF the toenail clippers had a convex blade shape. I have one like this that is still cutting like gangbusters after many years. It is starting to develop a few tiny rust spots. Even tho these are overpriced, I would probably take the plunge if this had geometry that I liked.

$26 to buy them individually on Amazon with prime shipping. What's more, they're not even that unique. I don't know what Seki's main product is or how they got their reputation, but if you look around it's easy to find several different brands that offer identical clippers of equal quality. I'm pretty positive these are outsourced by Seki, and the company that outsources them sells them to a wide variety of companies. I bought some from a company called Mr. Green not long ago. In a full travel kit with a bunch of other items, with a rather nice faux leather case, for $36. Go ahead and search Mr. Green on Amazon. The resemblance in the clippers is undeniable. Edit: Oh, actually, I'd go so far as to say the Mr. Green clippers are better. The inside of the fold-out handle has a nail file on it instead of the pointless grooves.

Don't get me wrong, they're not bad, but I don't come to massdrop looking for okay products I can get anywhere else for roughly the same price, and certainly not for Alibaba rebrands #47 through 1,109. It's at the point where I only see something worth glancing at in the emails every 6 months or so, and I make it to the page to even consider buying something less often than that. Everything is just pointless tat or meh with a mehhh price.
galanafccsI have owned both the Seki Nail Clipper and the Toe Nail Clipper for several years, they have worked great and are still very sharp, the resemblance in the nail clipper is definitely undeniable, because Mr. Green is known for counterfeiting, on top of that it's being made in China.

I bought these from Amazon a few years ago. They have a nice solid heft to them and are far and away the best nail trimmers I've every used.

Bought these for my dad, and he keeps cutting his nails even though he just cut his nails. He keeps telling me to write a review and say the company must make surgical instruments.
