Offer 1.25 meters cable for -30$ off the base price of the 2.5 meters one and you will have more joiners for sure.
Come on massdrop now that tons of people have ordered their HDXX might as well do the diggy drop on this bad boys :).
Cable has just arrived for me. Almost doesn't fit. Have to be careful when you insert it because it takes some serious force to make it slide in the first couple of times. Additionally, the connector that slides into your amp (a Schitt Jotunheim in my case) wiggles a fair bit more than I'd like to see. All of that aside, initial impressions are good. Minor improvement to sound stage, but a lot more power in the low end.
Anyone have any update if these have been shipped?
How much did these sell for?
Sharkhunter
$54.99 plus shipping. Still waiting.

Thank you for the reply.
I got a sare longer cable from sennheiser few days ago and re-terminated it with a balanced plug.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhh...shhh -,- I missed it, is there anyway I can get one?
Paulng
you can now lol
why should i buy these?
OnePunchMan
No real reason other than bragging that you spent more on a glorified headphone cable than most people spend on their entire headset.
Is there any chance to get this 4-pin balanced cable for other headphones? I would love to get one for my Sony MDR-Z7.
Just received mine. The sound through the balanced connection is definitely punchier than the single-ended connection I find. This might be more of topology thing rather than the cable of course. The cable seems to be high-quality as well

I am currently using sony pha-3. Is it possible to hear the full balance sound by connecting with the conversion cable in the picture?
sung.nam..lee
Yes. That looks like it converts from balanced 2x 3.5mm TRS to balanced 4-pin xlr, so I would expect that you will get full balanced signal with that adapter used with the cable in this drop.
The cable for HD 6xx has released, is that mean HD 6xx is coming soon?
Can we get some shorter options? 8 feet is pretty ridiculous as the shortest size on this drop. Some 5 foot cables would be perfect, a lot of us have desktop setups. Otherwise the price is right and the cable seems decent, would buy/10.
Uzuzu
Agree!
Hey everyone, I have a barely used one of these for sale on eBay right now if anyone is interested, I'll ship it out same day. The cable worked and sounds great with my Jotenheim amp, I just found the 2.5m to be too long for my desk set up and got a custom 6ft cable instead.
ThePeave
How much are you asking for it?
How about a drop on the headphones these are made for?
These connectors look cheap..
Would this fit the Fostex TH610? Looks very similiar....

Hey Dan thanks for the informative reply, when I responded I wasn't aware the connectors were different which is why I was confused and gave my insight because yes the Sennheiser connectors are almost identical in size while the Fostex clearly have a very large size difference and like you said NO ONE should be interchanging these cables. Not worth the potential damaged especially if you tried putting those Fostex connectors into a Sennheiser headphone port. Thanks for showing us the big difference.
WesR
The cable connectors will work in a Fostex socket but the fit may not be the tightest. They should not cause any damage if the sized pins are matched up to the holes on the headphones. The smaller pin should go into the smaller hole. damage may occur if you where to plug the connector in backwards. Putting the larger pin of the Sennheiser connectors into the smaller hole on the Fostex headphone could cause damage to the socket. With the proper polarity mod (On Unbalanced Cables. I don't know about Inverted Polarity Balanced Audio Cables) these connections work fine (They may just not connect as securely as an official cable would). If you are careful they should not cause damage just don't go and force them in backwards.
will this cable come before the replacement HD6xx cable we were promised?
How do these stack up against various $200-$300 balanced cables for the HD580, HD600 and 650's?
If it were a blind test, would you REALLY be able to tell the difference so long as you have the basics of cabling covered? And by basics I mean choice of core, shielding etc etc.
Appreciate any and all replies :)

Wrong, some high end cables will be pure silver without copper and the sound is said to be different (tighter, cleaner, bigger soundstage). I however disagree, I think copper is as good as it gets and some of my favorite cables for expensive headphones are cheap rubbery ones 10 dollars or less (no sound difference). I also think copper sounds better, imo.

I bought the Sennheiser CH650S cable for way too much money cause I'm a sad sad man, buy this and u will get 99.999% of the performance of my overpriced cable, I keep the 0.001% just to sleep at night.
Does anyone know if the 2 pin works on the Audeze iSine series?
Load 2 more comments
Yes, it is the wrong size. The only headphones that work with this connection (stock) that I know of are the Sennheiser HD650/6XX, the Fostex TH-610 and Fostex TH-900 mk2. Audeze uses their own proprietary connectors that they designed themselves.
rhenom
HD600 HD565 HD580 also come to mind.
does anyone know if this cable will word with sennheiser hd25/
tbeier
Same connector, using cheapo replacement cables from my HD-25s on my HD-6XX and they work fine.
will this cable work with a aune x1s amp ??
Simplysqueezed
No, but it will work with x7s.
I wish this came in an option for a 2.5mm balanced end. Then I could use it on my DX200
Dbaker81
It's simple enough to slice & reterminate with the plug you need. Seriously, the part is $5-10, and its a 15 min job
i dont have anything to plug the other end into.
dwane5
Reterminate?
SlowCousinPete
i dont think i want to go thru that.
USD69.98 with free shipping via ShenzenAudio website. USD54.99 plus USD5 shipping via Massdrop.
Could save around 10 bucks if I ordered thru the former but I have no experience getting anything from that website.. is it risky? No problem via Massdrop though.
Any thoughts?

Good to know that. Are you in USA?
maellen
I'm not.
Does this mean the HD6XX will drop again soon?

Knut
My guess would be no. It simply means that they have a market of 5000 people who bought the HD6XX and might be interested in getting a cable for it. No more and no less.
jimpx10
my guess would be yes. history repeats itself.
How do these cables sound? Would they fit to my HD-600?
Yes.
bsa.tannguyen58
Yes they will fit the HD-600... I'm not going to comment on the "how a cable sounds" aspect...
Is this hinting that the 6xx is gonna have another drop some time soon? Interesting.

PLEASE
When I saw "AND MORE", I thought there are more types. Disappointed with only XLR. I don't want to bring my huge ass amplifier to my second home.

You can get the original HD650 cable (the best cable) for $22 usd on Amazon. Sold by Sennheiser. I have lots. And I use them to build my Balanced cables as well. Way better than anything you can buy aftermarket.
The 650 stock cable is Teflon coated and it is shielded. It is soft. And dead quiet. No microphonics. No static, no interference.
$22 amazon. No reason for anyone not to have a pair. I even use them for other headphones. I just solder 3.5mm males at the ends and done. Great cable.

Big-Al
Can confirm the stock 650 cable is a huge upgrade over the one that comes with the HD565
The L&R headphone connectors are HUGE.

Could they make that any harder to read???? Not the best choice of colors.
If I have $700, which balanced amp and dac I should get?

Audio-gd nfb-28 (balanced) vs nfb-29 (SE) would be pretty close. They have the same power delivery circuitry. For the nfb-28, it is split across each channel at +15/-15V, and in the nfb-29, in a single higher voltage +30/-30V implementation (effectively making the nfb-28 in balanced mode as powerful and with as much gain as the nfb-29 in SE mode).

If you buy any balanced amp below $1000 that isn't the Schiit Jotunheim you will be doing yourself a disservice, especially with the HD650s.
