Unbelievable deal !! Whenever Sennheiser collaborates with Massdrop, the discount offerered is un imaginable but real. No other collaboration with massdrop has this insane dropping ability. Note everyone : Never buy a Sennheiser from anywhere else except massdrop. HD 650/Hd 6xx - $500 to $200 , HD 700 - $1000(actual msrp) to $400, HD 579 - $200 to $99. I am possibly expecting an hd 800 drop at $600-$700 range. Its actually a huge loss if u buy it from anywhere else.

Nick123456I don't find the HD700's a deal here, I got a pair on Black Friday Amazon for $369, I liked them a lot for finding details in the high end of recordings and taking the edge off of the sharper sounds (I used EQ to bring down the spike in the high end, can't remember off the top of my head but I think it was somewhere around 9 kHz) To be honest I think sennheiser has made the same products for so long, they do the massdrop because it's a publicity thing, instead of advertising their product they offer it at a "deal" (when the Hd650's probably cost $80 to make or less) and sell a lot of units to bump up profit. HD800 and HD800S are probably still expensive to make but still I don't see them costing more than $500. I hope they don't drop the HD800's, I hope they drop the HD800S because the HD800 (original) had a treble spike that kinda ruined them. HD800S fixed that. Either way sennheiser is a cool company and Everyone benefits when they collaborate with MD

Nick123456Thats awesome, i saw the hd 700's here for $400 some months ago and i think thats really great for a headphone which started its journey in the market as a $1000 headphone. U see there are a lot of drop collaborations from Beyerdynamic, Audeze and many others but none are offering huge rebate o the msrp. And yes i agree to the rest of what u said, i'll surely grab a hd 800s at $500 price range

Nick123456369 brand new. Black Friday is the best. And I was saying I don't think the HD800S's cost more than 500 as in to make, so the cheapest I see them going is 800 as they're harder to make and without a decent profit they'd rather pump out another 20,000 HD6XX's because the profit margins are much larger there. $800 for HD800S and I'd buy one

Nick123456I think at the time I got the HD700's, the HD650's were $310 and the HD600's were 249.

lshriverI said that bro in the very beginning, $600-$700. Sennheiser Massdrop collaboration pricing can be quite low. Well lets see

Nick123456As in beyerdynamic T1? I don't have a pair of those to compare but if you don't mind EQ the 700's are great, but the treble spike imo needs to be tuned down. But I'm not a treble head, the 700's don't have a lot of bass but again, they EQ very well. Great soundstage and comfort. I've heard the T1 has a little more treble than flat too so I would assume they're somewhat similar. 700's are only 150 ohms idk what the T1's are

lshriverI have an otl tube amp which tames the treble on all of my beyers, so treble is not going to be an issue at all. T1's at $650 a good deal?? Wt do u think??

Nick123456Never heard them, check if Z Reviews has a video on them. He's into neutral sound and usually hates over emphisized treble so just take that part out of account. I liked the Beyer 1990 Pro's I had for a short while, they just weren't for me, so I'm sure the T1's are good too.

Nick123456Wasn't a disappointment, I liked them, just had other things that suit me better. I have HD650's, 700's, AKG 7XX's, THX00 Ebony and HD800S right now, and I've had many others over the past few years, but those just seem to do do everything I really want headphones to do, so I sold off stuff that wasn't my listening style And/or was similar in sound to another headphone I had, then I sell them off. I also use the money from selling headphones (not like I make a profit, just transferring the money) to add to my microphone collection. Oh and AKG M220's I got just out of curiousity lol, theyre pretty good for the price, but I'm still glad I have higher end stuff. They make good monitors though

lshriverOhh, just assumed that u might have kept them if u had found something extremely well about them but unfortunately got rid of those so i thought that there may be something.... anyways, can u compare the dt 1990's to the hd 700's and 800's, very briefly. M220's are one of the stylish fancy looking headphones i've seen.... no doubt in that

Nick123456To my ears the DT1990 was more similar to the HD800 than the 700. They both had good soundstage and good highs (a little treble harsh to my ears, not sibilant, but a little more treble than I care for) but it's the knows that made them closer to HD800S than 700. 1990 and 800S have great, clear lows And a nice open soundstage. 800S wins in soundstage by far, and the lows are a bit faster and cleaner, but it doesn't mean the 1990 wasn't fast or clean. Just the 800 was more so. The 700 was closest to the 1990 in the midrange and soundstage. Nice soundstage, but 700 won to my ears, but not by much. 700 has good lows but needs a little EQ to bring them up to where I think they should be, but the nice thing is they react very well to EQ, it's just physics though, smaller driver makes for challenge to have good bass. If I could afford or have the HD800S, the 1990's would've stayed for sure and the 700's would've been sold. But when I'm mixing I like the 700's because I can hear fine details to edit out in the high range, but for listening the 1990 pro's beat the 700's by 3/4 of a mile. It wasn't quite miles, but it was a very large margin. If I could have just one headphone I'd have the HD800S (not HD800, the S model cuts out a treble spike that plagued earlier models) because they're excellent for critical listening, but also just enjoying the music, and they didn't really care what amp I had them on. DT1990 cared little but liked tubes.
If you're looking at HD800S price range though, you should consider getting an L300 Stax and some pad mods, I've heard they're an unbelievable experience. I plan on trying them someday. Otherwise I can recommend DT1990 pro without an issue, it's just I had stuff better suited to me personally so I sold it as it wasn't used much.

Nick123456Everyone wants that but sadly I don't forsee it happening soon. If I remember right Sony dropped one of their $2000 headphones for half the price and like 12 people bought them. Sennheiser is watching the other drops like hawks and they're seeing that they can't get mass sales on anything over $600. If the HD800S were to drop for $800 maybe 200-300 people would buy them, so they are going to have to either skip out or find some way to cut costs toget them cheap enough to sell bulk.
