For those of you having issues with clamping force, you can stretch these fairly easily. I use my studio monitors, they are about 8 inches wide and I just extend the headband all the way and put them on like the speaker is listening to them. It has reduced the clamping force for me without making them too loose. The headband will not break.
These cans are really fun, great with a good portable amp. Just don't expect audiophile sound and you will be happy. They round out my collection really well.

We have some great news to share with everyone. Our vendor has informed us that the bulk shipment was picked up on Monday, and it is currently en route to our warehouse! Transit time typically takes about a week, so we are expecting to receive the order by early next week. Once received, our warehouse team will work hard to turn around your individual orders as quickly as possible.

Thanks again for joining this drop! With your help we were able to make it successful for the community. We've just submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Sennheiser HD7 DJ Headphone and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where we'll break it up into individual orders and ship them directly to you! The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 11/16.
Rest assured that we will provide you all with updated information regarding the status of your order throughout the process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 11/10.

Nice edit!
I have a quick question for those of you who are more familiar with these headphones. I've been looking at getting a pair of Sennheiser headphones & now these show up & I'm really interested. Although I do like to use my headphones on the go occasionally. In the description it says that these headphones "sound great straight out of a device". I'm skeptical, will a portable device even power these? If so, how well will they sound on a scale from 1-10? I know these will sound great plugged into some gear but I'd like to know how they or will they sound out of a device? Thanks
Pgomez
At 95 ohms impedance, most mobile devices should be able to drive them _relatively_ well — you'll most likely just have to turn the volume on your device up higher than you usually would with headphones that are marketed as being "for" mobile devices (which are typically around 16-32 ohms).
FWIW, I used to use my old Sony MDR-V6 (63 ohms) and Sennheiser HD500 (150 ohms) to listen to music on my phone quite often, and they were fine. I just ended up having the volume on my phone set near the maximum, whereas with the ATH-M50x (38 ohms) I've been using more recently, the point where Android gives you an "unsafe volume" warning (~70%) is generally the loudest I listen to them (unless I'm in a particularly loud environment).
Anyone found a decent shorter after market cable yet?
Legit price!
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: to all those who want to ship internationally, just use a ship forwarding company such as shipito or myus. I myself use shipito. They give you an american address at their warehouse and you have this headphone shiped to that address, then it will be shipped to your country. This is quite common, you guys should check it out "ship forwarding"
Comeon, why no international shipping
Dammit, I would've bought this if there was international shipping to Australia :(
Why is there no shipping outside US/Canada?
Still waiting for mine.
I asked MassDrop not to ship UPS SurePost, as packages shipped this way to Alaska are guaranteed to be put on a barge with long delays. And once again, Massdrop ignored me.
UPS SurePost = 2-3 weeks delivery time. USPS standard shipping = 3-5 days.
Just got these and OMG they are amazing. I went from getting out of my car with two twelves, to this and i'm in love.
Just came today!

Now's your chance.
Been eyeing these on Amazon for a while now. Joined the drop, but hoping to God that Massdrop isn't going to ship them UPS Sure Post...
europe forgotten :(
I have been waiting to invest in some good audiophile headphones around the $150 price range. Now that I finally have the ability to invest, I am wondering if I should get these or the AudioTechnica ATH-M50x's. I am not a DJ and I will probably get an amp later.
these or the tiesto ones?
OfficialYan
Depends on how you plan to use them, the tiestos are more balanced sounding while the hd7's have a very strong bass response with a rolled off top end. The hd7's also isolate much better and are better for those with bigger ears, the tiestos can be a little snug with their fit.
Come on - don't miss Europe... This is terrable, I really liked this headphones...
So i have urbanite xls and i love the way they fit would these be about the same comfort wise. And are they a major improvement?
why is there no selection for any other country other than US or canada? i live in new zealand and these cost like $600 here, so this world be a score
NateDogeWow
Bro I live in NZ too, there is a way but it will cost you a little bit more just go search "YOU SHOP" from nz post. Hope it can help you https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/youshop
I haven't used the HD7, but I have been using a pair of HD8's for a couple months. These things have seriously powerful bass with excellent control. Whereas beats sound like a fart cannon that's been recorded through a pillow, the HD8's sound tight and punchy. The mids are a bit lacking compared to the studio monitors that I use as my daily driver, but after using the HD8's for a few minutes you get used to them and the mids don't really feel weak anymore.
Another thing to be aware of, if you get hotspots from headbands the way I do, these headphones might not be for you. I can only use my HD8's for 30 minutes at a time, at most.
H-Litch
I had to put an HD280 headband pad on my HD8's headband.
A little fiberfill inside of the cups helps the mids sound a bit more natural, but will reduce the bass thump slightly.
Ah i wish you guys did a drop on the HD8 or as an additional option, would have loved to pick those up.
Deity
You may have already heard this, but the HD8 and HD7 have the same driver and sound pretty much the same from what I've been told/read. The only difference is the HD8 has a few more metal parts and supposedly sturdier construction. Unless you're a DJ and/or put your equipment through abuse, there's not a huge advantage to the 8's over the 7's
I have the HD8 and they definitely don't have "audiophile" sound. I like the sound signature though. They have big bass and lowered treble which works well with electronic music (90% of my music collection is EDM) and modern pop. Just check Tyll's graph because that's exactly how they sound. Also they look really cool and feel solid. Great build quality.
BUT
The biggest issue I have is bad comfort due to high clamping force. For short bus/train trips sure they can work but for home use and long gaming sessions forget it. Unless you are masochist of course. I can't use them for more than 30min or maybe an hour if I'm listening to a really good mix.
Maybe I'm stating the obvious here since I'm in a pro audio section but these headphones are strictly made for DJ's and if you are not a DJ do not get these IMO.
Sike2
I have the hd8s too and this is exactly how I feel too, but I like the bass heavy sound, it's a good headphone to add to your collection but I wouldn't get them if they are your only ones.
