Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

Beats owns 57 percent of the "premium" market of headphones that cost over $99. ( a pity to sennh, akg, ath and beyer)

Popularity does not necessarily indicate better quality. Beats are excellent in marketing, and they have their own target audience (ie. the average teenage) which is different from the main target audience of other companies. For example, the same people Beats target probably stick excessive subwoofers in their cars and crank up the bass to levels you can feel in your bones. Simply put, that is not the crowd Sennheiser markets the HD800s to.
And you look like a hipster if you wear the DT990 in school, but you probably look normal with Beats around your head. Different uses, different markets. Some markets are just bigger.
well, to be frank, the look of hd598,600,650 is nothing to be proud of. They look just like a serious tool from germany. :D
good to see beyer/senn/akg are ready to go into common crowd. heck, thanks to ipod earphone, to many commoner that opened a whole new level already. now everyone can listen to good music, no longer kept between audiophile who spend thousands on cables and dac amp :D
its a win-win-win situation for everyone !
