i built this keyboard and at first everything was working fine, then i came back later in the day to find that the keyboard itself had just stopped working,
at first i tried the obvious approach of just unplugging the usb and plugging it back in but it said that the driver had failed to install. I followed a guide on geekhack to find a way to reinstall the driver (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=83145.0) and that worked but the keys and leds still werent working so i used EASYAVR to build and program the layout and that worked up until it said i needed to upload the USB AVR using Flip,
i already had flip installed but it wasnt letting me run it through flip and instead showed an error saying " Java virtual machine not found" so instead i uploaded it through USB AVR using dfuloader and it worked but the keyboard still seized to work. I have no idea what to do now and cant help but feel as if this kit was a waste of money.
Overall quality is not great, there were some knicks in the aluminum and a portion of the acrylic was not finished and looks really bad. But I haven't had any LED issues thankfully, and it works without issue. Don't really recommend; there are better 60% kits out there.
so after I put this kit together, everything was working great. then I woke up the other morning to have only one RGB light working on the bottom of the PCB. Ive tried everything. Flashed Sentraqs hex file from their site and literally nothing works. Well everything works but the underglow. Whats up Sentraq? Please let me know how to remedy this. I'm no noob to programming PCB's either.
I just pushed on one of the unlit RGB LED's and it started lighting up! Something is definitely off Sentraq.
Anyone know a way to read the default .hex on the keyboard. Mine has been normal until yesterday, when my CapsLock started registering as Ctrl.
Update: found the default .hex file on website but the CapsLock key is still registering as Ctrl key press. Any recommendations on what to do next?
Update2: messing around with the .hex file and if the CapsLock is replaced with something else (e.g. "a" in place of CapsLock it registers as "a") but CapsLock still does the same thing: Ctrl instead of CapsLock
I was able to solder the switches and test them, they all seem to work.
However I can't find the mapping for arrow keys in the default layout. I'm pretty sure Fn works, since Fn+Esc produces `~ and Fn+Z,X,C... changes the lighting, but Fn+WASD or other combinations don't seem to map to arrow keys.
Also, I plan on changing the layout with qmk, but I want to keep the current key combinations for the LEDs. Is the layout that comes with the board available anywhere so that I can build on it?
Fortunately I did not have any issues mentioned here. This is a pretty nice kit, had a lot of fun building it as well as learning how to flash custom keymaps.
I didnt flash the keyboard or anything but hopefully this can help you i would press and hold fn and press Z to turn on and off the underglow. FN x will change the style of the underglow like breathing and waves and stuff like that fn C and V will change the colors of the underglow. FN [ and ] will change the keyboard leds to low medium and high in brightness.
Edit: looking further down the comments i came across a link that may be helpful
