1. Why would a kit cost as much or more than a fully assembled keyboard? 2. Who makes the keycaps? 3. Do the keycaps have an antibacterial coating? (I hope not). 4. Would the PCB and Plate accept Alps/Matias switches? 5. Would Costar/Filco-type stabilizers be an option?
Thanks.

HypersphereA kit generally costs more than a finished keyboard because you don't have the scale advantages of a big manufacturer. Chinese manufacturing is really cheap at volume. The point of these isn't cost savings but the fun of assembling something yourself and being able to customise all the options completely to your own liking.

HypersphereThese keycaps look like they're made by Leopold or someone related to them. They use the same Typeface I've seen on their other products. I very much doubt they'll have that coating applied them.

tyr.goossensYes, but theres a large premium being placed for assembling a pretty stardard board. Barebones white fox was around the base price of this and that's getting a very nice looking aluminum case with it.

Hypersphere1. Volume manufacturing is not really a thing for kits. 2. I believe it is Leopold. 3. there should not be as that is taihao specific. 4. Nope. 5. PCB Mount stabilizers only.

jbyoungI believe Sentraq mentioned in a Reddit post that Varmilo makes the keycaps.
K.MakCorrect, the keycaps are custom Varmilo caps.
