AlvyoliThese are produced by Varmilo. They are attributed to Sentraq who had the X60-s 60% keyboard drop not too long ago.
They are my favorite caps. I have the white and mint side-print versions, and I have been expecting these for a long time. They are not the thickest things in the world, but they have the best texture in my opinion. Larger granules instead of small like Vortex. They also have the most satisfying sound of any caps I have tried. The profile is close to Cherry, which means they feel even more solid and stable. Something about these keycaps feel different than any other set I have tried, they feel somehow, more dense than other caps. Like the plastic is more tightly compacted in molding, it is a very good thing.
For the money, I think these are the best caps on the market (I picked up my white set for $28 on /r/mechmarket).
My only issue with this drop is that you can buy these right now for only about a dollar more and have them shipped to you in a week and not have to wait a month and a half. For anyone interested in that (or interested in pressuring MD to work the price down a bit) they are available here: https://www.mechanicalkeyboards.co.id/products/detail/varmilo-black-on-black-pbt-dye-sublimated-keycap-set
Edit: the ones in the link also do not have the VA/VB87m media control side print.
SuembeauxGood to know - thanks. I have a varmilo keyset and its it feels good... I guess all varmilo keycaps are the same step sculpture 2 profile. I actually prefer GMK over the Varmilo though... I like the texture of the GMK better and the color options are more interesting.
breitling88No problem! I have yet to try DSA, SA, JTK or GMK. I admit I am missing some crucial experience, but they are all on the list. I have Granite and PuLSE ordered, and I am always watching for a set of JTK Debut. One day GMK will come out with a set I can't refuse.
SuembeauxI've got sets of pretty much all except JTK but it sounds like its very similar to GMK in feel. I just haven't liked the JTK sets so far enough to buy any... tempted to buy one just to try it out but I have too many sets unused that I bought for that reason! I've also got PuLSE and Granite ordered.. pretty stoked for both. I find DSA a bit rough in texture for my liking, but it has its charm.
breitling88JTK Debut was so well priced and a good enough colorway I wish I had hopped on it, I think it was $58 before shipping, now they regularly go for $80+. I worry about the non-sculpted DSA, I feel like I will be selling that set not very long after receiving it, but I need to actually try it to scratch it off my list.
SuembeauxYou say they aren't the thickest.
But in the picture they look at the minimum 1.5mm which is thick.
Anything thicker would be amazing and rare AF.
Can you confirm the thickness with a measurement?
