It progressively feels like Massdrop has become a platform for unloading products that no one would otherwise pay for or would have incurred a loss to its manufacturer. Not to say that there aren't excellent drops but they have become the gems in the rough.

Jas0nIt's suspicious that the HK Axis folder has been repeatedly featured to a tepid response and every week there is a new Spyderco blade for sale on here yet we rarely, if ever, see, for example, Benchmade or Zero Tolerance knives.

defgMay simply be because Benchmade or ZT don't feel like giving a group discount. Just because MD asks doesn't mean the manufacturers will work with them. Wouldn't make sense for us or them to have MD as a middleman if there is no discount involved.
That said, I am getting a little of the same feeling. I'm a bit tired of seeing some of the same stuff popping up over and over.

defgThat's because Benchmade and ZT (and actually Spyderco) enforce MAP (Minimum Advertised Pricing.) You'll notice that even Amazon sells Benchmade and ZT knives at the same price as most knife retailers; this is to allow smaller knife dealers to survive in a world with the likes of Amazon. The Spydercos that pop up are discontinued models, and thus not subject to MAP.
