I'm just wondering, I mostly listen to music on the go usually with my phone or ipod, would it be worth it to get a portable amp for these? I know that there's this one on massdrop: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/tcg-u-skin-portable-dac-amp at the moment and I'm thinking about getting it.

WakeFrom what little info there is about it, seems its bass heavy so if bass i your thing then give it a shot. For 70 bucks, not a bad price. But the whole point of IEMs is portability/convenience on the go. A portable dac is anything but convenient.
Also it seems to be the same as the SMSL SAP-4S MAX9722. People say its great sound with bass but if you're looking for reference/balanced sound then look elsewhere. Also you can find them for 67.99 all over the net, amazon sells it for 65 and some places or auctions you see them for 45. Also some say there is noticeable hiss with some IEMs. So far every amp I've plugged my se535s into has hiss. Lol I plugged them into my Schiit Lyr 1, never in my life did I hear so much hiss. Hahahaha

ShervOkay thanks for telling me, since I haven't received my Shure's yet I think I'll wait to see if I really need an amp or not. And if I do I can just purchase the SMSL SAP-4S MAX9722 or another one.
