For sale elsewhere, I've seen at least these variants: SE535-V, SE535-CL, SE535-V-J, and SE535-LTD. Is this drop for one of those models or something different?

julesdI believe they are variations in color and US/International versions. I think the actual products are the same.

julesdI think the only SE535s that are different are the red LTDs that have a different sound signature that some say is better.

nanzhongThat is correct. FYI, for those wondering about the LTD and are on the fence about that version vs. the standard SE535, it has been shown that the sound profile of the stock SE535 can be "upgraded" to that of the LTD edition by simply changing out the acoustic damper/filter. More info can be found at the link below. There is also a link to where you can buy the dampers - they are so cheap that you could get several and experiment until you find the one(s) offering the sound profile you like best.

Daniel-sanTo echo what Daniel-san, the dampeners seem to make a difference. I have the orange and noticed a nice bump in the bass, many people like the brown ones for a good kick in bass. Haven't been able to try the browns as they are back-ordered (awaiting shipment of mine).
I also got my SE530 back from re-cabling today and paired with my new JDS Labs C5d DAC/AMP I noticed a fantastic kick in the bass. I first I wasn't sure if the re-cabling did something (don't generally think cables make much of a difference) maybe It's a combo of both... but the bass was really really improved.
Note I didn't like the combination of the orange filter and the C5D. Stock filter with C5D is a great combo. Orange filter and Note 4 is a good combo. Also I think the C5D made a bigger difference to the SE530 than it did with the SE846 or JH Audio Roxanne.
Was thinking of selling the C5D, and the SE530 once I get it back from re-wiring. Might just have to keep both now. Do I really need three EXPENSIVE earphones?
Just FYI for those interested in these and end up wanting a little more in the bass department.
