To people in the UK, these are available at GAK (Guitar Amp Keyboard) for £69, and free delivery available for any weekday of choice. I got my Shure SE215's from them a while back. Delivery was great.
Heads up for Canadian buyers, these are available on amazon.ca for 119 + tax and they're prime eligible.
How do these compare to the Phillips SHP9500's dropping now?
Wow, these are more expensive here than they are on B &H.

They're $99.99 on B&H. $10 cheaper here, up to $20 if the max price drop is hit.
What do these sound like? I am looking for something solid for some monitoring, something with a similar sound signature as the sony mdr 7506.
I bought these years ago (like 6 years ago) from Thomann (audio shop) for about 60 EURO, and am now shocked today to see how expensive these headphones have become. I was walking through duty free in LHR recently and saw these on in a shop the wall. My eyes nearly popped out seeing that they cost 90 GBP. On Amazon UK these go for about 100 GBP! What has changed? To me the box and content look exactly the same. More hype?
Anyway I absolutely love these headphones! The sound is pretty good, however invest in the SRH840 earpads, they are softer then the stock ones and (to me at least) improved the sound - bass - further.

Just switch to 840/940 pads.. ZZz
Absolutely love these! Best bang for you buck with these! Amazing headphones. These are my choice every single time, they have been for over 5 years now! But I have to be honest, If you are thinking of spending a little more on headphones, take the follow up model of this one the Shure SRH840, are a little more money, but the sound experience is absolutely amazing.
What amp are you showing in the pictures?
Everyone says this is great. The thing is that i have already bought AKG Q 701s. Should i still go in for this?
I am also going to be Schiit Vali + Modi combo, will the Shure SRH440 benefit in any way?

That's all great, except the Q701's are about twice the retail price of the SRH440's, along with the HD598's. The X1's are more expensive too. I get where you're coming from in terms of the cable and headband, but for the price, the only other real competition are the Audio Technica ATH M50's/M50x's, although I notice the ES-FC300's are similar in price. Either way, if you've the money to spend on Q701's, or HD598's, get them instead. They'll be infinitely better

Actually you also have the Koss Pro DJ100/200's as well. Easily a solid pair of cans as well
Are these any good?
I've owned two pairs of these headphones (purchased from Long & McQuade) and must say that they are great quality for your buck. Obviously there are gonna be higher-up models, but these are definitely top in their class.
From what I've read, the SRH440 is great for the price. The main complaint I see from people are that the earpads are not very comfortable, but people workaround that by purchasing SRH840 earpads. Those are about $14 on Amazon. Search for "HPAEC840".
I recently visited a Sam Ash to check out some headphones. The SRH880 I tried was NIB and they sounded incredible. The SRH440, on the other hand, sounded rather poor, but maybe how worn and beat up they were had something to do with it. I thought they would have similar sound signatures, but the SRH440 just didn't nearly have the same clarity and treble extension like the SRH880 and the mids sounded rather coarse? If that makes any sense. But maybe the SRH440 I tried really were damaged?
While the SRH880 had better overall build quality, it still felt cheap with the heavily plastic build. And to kind of echo sidewu and AgentTran, the SRH880's earpads were very comfortable. The SRH440's weren't nearly as soft and not as glasses-friendly.
I had a pair of SRH840s and was not at all pleased with the build quality. The headband broke off from the left cup within 3 months of purchasing. I am not very rough on headphones and have had several much cheaper headphones last much longer.
I just saw this being reposted, a tip though, if you're buying these get the 840 earpads to go along with it, it will be much more worthwhile. Other than that, at $75 dollars these are a steal. (thats what I got them for, last drop.)
Just a little tip if you want to buy these headphones. Get the 840 earpads along with them, the difference is day and night.
I own these and there's speculation that there are two versions of these headphones. One supposedly has a lot of bass and the other has none. I contacted Shure and they deny that there are any regional differences or multiple versions of the SRH440s. That said, the manufacturing tolerances are probably quite extreme. Buyer beware.
Also the headband and stock pads aren't very comfortable.
Jut got mine today, it sounds great and was worth it!
