Everyone says this is great. The thing is that i have already bought AKG Q 701s. Should i still go in for this?
I am also going to be Schiit Vali + Modi combo, will the Shure SRH440 benefit in any way?

SilverstrikeThe AKG are better overall than the SRH440.
The SRH440 doesn't seem to have noticeable improvements from being amped.
That's from my experience with the SRH440 + 840 pads.

SilverstrikeThere's not really any reason to pick the SRH440s if you have the AKG Q701s unless you want isolation. Cable is too long and headband can be uncomfortable after extended use; it doesn't make a good portable.
My advice? Get some IEMs for portability like HiFiMAN RE400 or get a circumaural to compliment them like Philips Fidelio X1 or Sennheiser HD 598. Onkyo ES-FC300 if you want portable headphones.
All of which, you should totally make available, Massdrop.

DragonzeanseThat's all great, except the Q701's are about twice the retail price of the SRH440's, along with the HD598's. The X1's are more expensive too. I get where you're coming from in terms of the cable and headband, but for the price, the only other real competition are the Audio Technica ATH M50's/M50x's, although I notice the ES-FC300's are similar in price. Either way, if you've the money to spend on Q701's, or HD598's, get them instead. They'll be infinitely better
