Has Massdrop ever had sunglasses that didn't look like they were straight from the 50s? Would be nice if there was a drop for some more modern styled sunglasses, since there's only a certain demographic of people who are obsessed with wearing vintage clothing and looks. Then again, maybe that explains all the other Men's fashion drops...

VistanceWelcome to the men's style community, @Vistance!
We've dropped sunglasses in a variety of styles, but it's true that the most popular ones are from classic companies making high quality glasses in the USA - Shuron, Randolph, and American Optical, for instance. Most men's style enthusiasts tend to focus on design, quality, and value, and brands like these tend to exemplify these characteristics more than 'fashion' brands that are part of the Luxottica monopoly and churn out overpriced and over-branded pieces.
And it's true that this design was made popular in the 50's, but this style is extremely popular now. For example, Ray Ban Clubmasters (which are inspired by this model) are immensely popular and seen all over the place. These are like a higher quality, OG version of those.
What brands and styles are you interested in seeing? Always open to new ideas!

IanAndersonI've never seen anyone wear these old style glasses except hipsters, but from what I've seen in the emails, you could just as well call this hipster fashion instead of men's fashion. Looking through the history of drops here, if I bought an ensemble made from the things sold here I'd just need the hipster hairdo and facial hair to complete the look. Just because I'm not a hipster doesn't mean I don't buy nice things, even though I'm sure that's the conclusion that will be made. At least I'm not one who immediately thinks if something is new, it isn't good and if it's old it must be better.
Is there a way I can remove certain sections of this site from showing up in my email updates, or do I just have to completely unsubscribe from the newsletter? None of the "fashion" here is anything I think I'll ever be interested in.

VistanceSounds like you live under a rock, dude. Pretty off base; blanket-terming them as hipster just because they aren't Oakley metallic-lensed abominations. Not saying you should hop on the bandwagon, but from your generalizations (and personally as a frequenter of multiple fashion forums) it's pretty obvious you're not a fashion advisor.
You hold a minority opinion. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's not likeable.

ennuiImplying I would buy Oakleys because I don't like sunglasses that look like stuff my grandpa wore in the '60s...since you're such a stylist, I'll take your word for it. I've only never seen a single person wearing these glasses, be elitist about your fashion choices all you want but I see cheap sunglasses everywhere and the few times I see expensive ones they're usually Raybans, Oakleys, and the like.
I really don't see how you don't think these are hipster glasses though. It fits right in the mantra of buying stuff that "no one else wears" because you're too smart to be mainstream. It's old school, and everyone knows old stuff is made better - no exceptions. If your idea of cool is the everyman from the '60s...well, I'll proudly not be "cool".
The only place I might hold a minority opinion is right here where the rest of you hipsters pick up your edgy non-mainstream clothing. Being a majority somewhere doesn't suddenly make you the right one.
Same exact glasses just without the shade...but this guy isn't a hipster, right?

VistanceDude if you don't like them, you don't need to go on a rant about how hipster they are or whatever. Just don't get them. I don't like a lot of the stuff on Massdrop, so I don't get it.
