INFOWARS_jARjARFrom my read of reviews and specs elsewhere than Massdrop, it's more like a good FOURTH season tent. It is a single wall alpine/mountaineering tent that also can be fitted with its fly. As an alpine tent it seems to be a great price. But the ventilation I see may not be adequate for comfort in warmer seasons and locations. I guess it would depend on whether you are able to pitch with the doors oriented to take advantage of breezes.

seenypaulI use this tent in the desert through the shoulder seasons and winter. It'll get warm in there in direct sun but both the back and front windows can open for venting. You totally have it right that it depends on the setup and then what people are comfortable with. I wouldn't want to use it in the middle of the summer, mainly for the heat.
As far as being single wall, this tent is large enough (with both windows open) that condensation isn't typically too big of a problem. On a warm night, with another person and a dog in the 2 person, the walls do tend to get sweaty.

MikeGilbertMike, thanks for adding your desert perspective. I can definitely see this performing well for that over a pretty broad season. My perspective is mostly more humid and rainy eastern U.S. I don't think it would be so ideal here. I'm having a hard time envisioning leaving the vestibule and fly behind unless a dry forecast is dead certain to allow a single-wall DWR pitch. And with any chance of blown rain or wet snow, I don't see using the fly without the vestibule. I used a Eureka Alpenlite 2XT for a number of years (older model, pretty sure it had a lot less mesh than they do now although I seem to remember front and rear doors maybe having mesh.) It could get pretty stifling inside in my area a good six months of the year.
