Will a pad that is 3" thick (Nemo Tensor mummy) fit in the sleeve? Specs at Sierra Design site say the sleeve fits a 2.5" pad. That 1/2" might make all the difference in the world.

Really quick delivery to Toronto, but I had to pay almost CDN$96 COD! $10 for DHL + $86 for duties and taxes. I'm sure it will be worth it though.

Hello I'm 180 cm, would a man's regular (which is 198 cm) be long enough ?

DrSchollJust out of interest... why wouldn't you think a 198cm is long enough for your 180cm height? When it's really cold, I sometimes huddle further down the bag so that my face is not exposed - but that is in exceptional circumstances. With this particular bag, you might want a better fit in order to better use the footbox's 'self sealing' ventilation system.

flyin2flyoutActually I rather thought it would fit but just wanted to make sure (and to be franck posted at work so I could not check on my present sleeping bag ;-) Meanwhile I found the info on SierraDesign website, the fit should be perfect : REGULAR
  • EN Limit Temp Rating: 2F / -17C
  • EN Comfort Temp Rating: 15F / -9C
  • Fill Weight: 26 oz / 736 g
  • Minimum Weight: 2 lb 8 oz / 1.14 kg
  • Fits Up To: 6' 0" / 183 cm
  • Length: 78in / 198 cm
So the Nitro 800 0 Degree is ordered :-) Thanks for your answers.

Hi, I ordered 5 Cloud bags in the previous drop. Can I exchange them for Nitro bags with paying the difference?

Just received my bag (looks great, thanks!). Wondering if anyone has found a good size compression sack for the 20degree regular? The stuff sack it came with doesn't pack it down very small for hiking.

Sara1hNot a compression bag but I managed to fit mine in an 8L dry bag. About 31 x 17 cm. Don't think I can compress it much further. Also it's the women's 20 degree version.

Is the 800fp goose down or duck down?

Gb1031Duck down, according to this site:
https://www.backcountryedge.com/sierra-designs-nitro-ul-800-20-degree.html
In my experience, if an item doesn't specifically mention it being goose down, you can safely assume it is duck down, especially at this price. USA 850 fill and lower is typically duck, unless otherwise mentioned.

Got to clarify....there is insulation on the bottom? This is not like a BA bag? Is there less on the bottom? How do you get the weight so low?

vvarriale66 No idea about other details, but in response to karthik3685 further down the thread MikeGilbert confirmed the bottom is insulated.
From what I can gather, it's also a half-zip rather than full. And a lot of bags use 20d nylon while this is 15d, not sure if that cuts weight as well? I'm curious too- it's an impressive warmth to weight ratio. Ah, the beauty of 800fp...
MonnoM@vvarriale66 Your response makes me deeply happy. There is down in the bottom of the bag. It has a half zip and the 15d inner and outer that was mentioned by @MonnoM. It is a very 'simple' bag, which helps with both the weight and cost. 5 inch baffles, no pockets or many frills. The foot vent doesn't add any extra weight and everything else is fairly standard. I just used the 20 degree sleeping out of my truck for a week in the PNW and was psyched about its comfort.

Are both men's and womens bags left zip? I'm interested to know if they would zip together. Obviously the benefit is minimized since its such a short zipper but I would still like to know. Thanks.

Mqh516My wife and I have a different bag by sierra designs and you can zip them together. She has a short, I have a long version. BUT the zippers line up exactly so its the foot boxes that are different lengths. I imagine these would be the same.?

ZeroplanetzReceived an email from tblacker and the comment isn’t showing up for me, so here’s my reply... I have the Zissou 12 and the zipper goes down to about my knees. The foot box is quite long with no zipper down around it. This bag is hard to tell but does appear to stop further up. Hope this helps.
