HmmwellDamn, best assist ever, bought 2 last night, they shipped out this morning, going by the picture I made the right choice, those look better and higher quality than the ones on Amazon, and are way cheaper.
Jj10Just received my order... very well packaged & packed... stands even come bagged nicely inside a black protective pouch which could be used for other things you may want -)
Compare to this drop, one can easily own over a dozen of those >D
HmmwellOrdered 2 and got them today. They are perfect, exactly what I needed. Thanks for the link. I'll probably pick up two more as cheap, but seemingly more expensive, gifts.
FranklinDBroseveltMine says they aren't gonna be here until Monday the 6th, ugh, you are all making the wait unbearable, I know there just headphone stands, but I need them ASAP not only for practical use (my new k712 pros deserve better than laying them on the desk), but I'm also eager to see the build quality. For the price they could be made out of bent cardboard and I wouldn't be too upset, yet it sounds like they're made really well. UPS please drive faster! 🚚 📦📦
tooitchyMine came USPS 2-Day Priority Mail (shipped from a retailer instate).
I also bought a new K712pro this week & really enjoying it... not sure about all that burn-in myth since mine seem to sound very good already without any Amp/DAC involved (looking for one to buy anyways <LoL>)
Jj10Out of curiosity where did you get your k712s and what was the price? I got a pair last week and am loving them, after a week of heavy use I believe they sound a little different than they did out of the box,I remember thinking the were certain highs that might be a little too bright for my tastes, and spent today listening close for those kinds of highs, since I realized I wasn't hearing them anymore, and ya, nowhere to be found. The bass is still great, it might have mellowed out slightly, but not much. All in all I love these cans so much I'm trying to figure out a reason to buy another pair.
tooitchyOh and I'm running mine off the schiit fulla 2, they sound much better off the fulla than they do off the motherboard or even my old Logitech z500 or whatever their old old 5.1 speaker system is called.
tooitchyFrom someone who was gifted one recently, but he has a much more expensive setup already... I got them for $230 which isn't too bad since it was new & still shrink-wrapped intact (I was going for the K7XX , but changed my mine & went with the K712pro instead... will get a slightly used one later just as a backup).
Sure, the sound may change some over time & a DAC/Amp would improve overall... still, I'm content without one at the moment as I have only used my computer & mp3 player to drive them just fine <when I turn my volume control all the way up, they sound slightly louder than I'm comfortable with... so, about 50-70% for the computer & 85-90% for the mp3 player>
I may get that Fulla2 if I can't find a good used DAC/Amp with a digital readout for less than it... Oppo2 is also another option.
All my music files are ripped in either FLaC<personal favorites> or VBR V0<ok for multiple listening> ... with these new HP's, the FLaC tracks sound incredible fuller & the VBR ones sound slightly better than the old cans (maybe they'll improve some more with a DAC/Amp).
HmmwellI'm glad this share worked for some people. I just bought two more. The bags that come with them, after reading an Amazon listing, are for covering your sets that you don't use everyday and you want to keep dust-free.
To the K7XX and K712 conversation: I would like to hear the difference. I have read reviews of "nothing different" and "the world different", but I'm not about to pick up the K712's just to see. Hopefully someone has both. Cheers all
