This is actually made of beech wood and wood veneer, stained and lacquered. The $30 version on Amazon seems to be a cheap-looking knockoff version that will possibly ruin a good set of headphones (according to the reviews). For those people who want an attractive, quality display for their headphones and notice the details, this appears to be a great deal, being that it's $50-$70 off the MSRP. Though I do wish they offered the Zebrano.
