Product Description
This Sigma macro lens is ideal for shooting subjects up close, with an optical stabilization system that prevents camera shake and a large aperture for excellent detail. It has an SLD lens and a high-refractive-index SLD lens, both of which serve to correct aberrations and distortions for clearer portraits, nature shots, and wedding shots Read More

Just bought the most recent version of the Tamron 90mm for around this price. I'm used to that focal length as it replaced a 1990's version Tamron 90, but did give this Sigma a bit of consideration when shopping. Kind of agree that the price is not a low enough drop to make it worth it even if I was in the market now.

Definitely not good deal. This is normal price in most of eshops and sometimes in shops we could find much better price than 490 USD. I really don't understand Sigma marketing strategy in case of this lens. Premier price was higher than Canon 100 L 2.8 which is in every detail better than sigma: better af, better sharpness, much better build quality and overal picture. I compared face to face this lenses. Probably nobody who have in hand system 100 2.8 L lens bought this sigma for near 1k USD. Now in all shops there is price about 500$ and in my opinion still not worth for this lens, for me better is even old canon 100 2.8 (not L)
