Are you guys serious? Not to say warranties are useless in most cases, BH sells for 1199 and it is only 800 here. IMO the only thing that could go wrong and protected by warranty is a dead auto focus, but it is rare. Even eBay got its lowest price at 939 with only seller warranty.

Not worth anything without a warranty. $910 new at B&H with USB dock.

CalaverasgrandeNot really; at least, not to typical 'L' or 'gold-ring' levels. Canon's 85/1.4L IS (though not so much the older 85/1.2L I or II) and Nikon's 85/1.4G should be better protected from the elements.

Actually, lack of warranty. Sigma USA will not recognize an international warranty, especially without even an authorized dealer receipt. If it breaks, it's $250 for Sigma USA to even look at it. It's like a gray market watch. Same exact watch, but you can't go to the manufacturer for any support..

I have the same question about U.S. warranty or if gray market. Sigma USA requires it come from an authorized Sigma dealer and have a receipt from that dealer.

Not sure how you are going to step in. At best the lens will be considered used and no warranty. Worst case it is grey market and all repairs will be a minimum $250 and mount conversion will not be available. Without a receipt from an authorized dealer there is no warranty. If Massdrop buys and resells the lenses, they are considered used and no warranty. Greentoe just matches buyers and sellers so the warranty is still good.

You're welcome. Just want to make sure that things are clear about support options and that as a buyer we're all informed. Appreciate JaySun endorsing my reply.

Meh, and au contraire. There are lots of lenses available. Even glass from the sixties still fits the current mounts (glass much better than most of the current Canon and Nikon stuff, I might add). Just nothing from the Massdrop folks.
