How would these compare to a pair of Pioneer SP-BS22-LR on a decent amp/reciever? Thanks.

MeowitzerHaving owned both pairs of speakers, It's safe to say these are a more rounded option. The pioneers sound amazing, but it take good positioning and as you said a pricey amplifier. The benefit of the simple audio is how small they are, their connection capabilities, and amazing build. Plus you can get to pioneers anytime for 120 (I watched amazon and got them for 50!), while the simple audio are always upwards of 400$

corey.jonesDoes that mean that the Pioneers sound better than the Simple Audio Listens or that they sound about the same. I know you are compromising a lot by having smaller drivers in terms of bass response and volume but how does the sound quality compare?

HuestonThe Pioneers sound better, in terms of both bass extension and overall accuracy. However the Simple Audio Listens have a slightly better sound stage in my opinion, and I would recommend them. Bass is slightly less but the passive radiator in the back really helps.

corey.jonesThanks for the reply. I kinda guessed the pioneers would be better considering how big the cabinets are and the size of the drivers are significantly bigger. I feel like i made the right choice though. The BS22 will run about $175~ with a decently capable amp such as the SMSL SA50, that doesn't include cables and banana plugs. I guess for my needs i require a small ultra capable system that sounds great, looks great, and is high quality. I think i can live with these sexy speakers even though they are no giant killers. Thanks again Cory!
