Best skateboard I’ve ever used
I’ve actively used this board for 8 months. Throughout my experience I’ve gotta say it’s one of the best boards for the price. No problems, except the controller with a half a second delay. I charge the controller once every three rides which might be the reason but still it’s pretty resilient. One suggestion for the people at skatebolt would have to be ALL TERRAIN tires. I’d love to throw money at 3D printed tires that can latch onto the tires to allow better handling over bumps. The speeds are wonderful I find myself crushing the street and zooming around cars around Manhattan. Problem is the potholes which can leave you flying. With AT tires I could focus more on the street and less on the terrain. Another suggestion could be the battery to be doubled. If that’s possible I could see this outshining the evolve any day now. The price is low, but I can see the AT tires and extended battery playing a major factor in the potential for this company. another suggestion would be adding a cheap rubber cover for the gear switch so rain doesn’t get into the remote. I’ve rode this in the rain and I water proofed the board with electrical tape and silicon. My only complaint is again the battery and the AT tires. If we have those two I could see myself throwing more money into skatebolt. Those limitations have me wanting to upgrade to the evolve but I enjoy the hub motors for their reverse advantage. My first electric board but definately not my last. I’m thinking about modding the board to get AT tires myself, and perhaps double the cells on the battery to allow a better experience. What I like about these boards is that it’s speed and price are still the best on the market.

This board is like a Toyota Sprinter or Corolla from the 80s, you never really knew why people could like it; kinda ugly with a strange name and could only imagine someone delivering pizzas with it. ...but once you take one for a spin and get intimate with the boards multiple personalities you will never put her down. She really only has 3 unique personalities or speeds. -The first setting is "take it slow buddy Im not in a rush ....slow and easy and no one will get hurt." -Two weeks later and your ready to step it up to " I feel so comfortable with you .....lets ride a little faster but with the same acceleration and see where it goes". -The 4th week marks a new stage for the relationship, now this is the point where you will want to jump the gun and push the limits because its going so well "..so you slide your thumb down.... and slowly press the little mini nub to a position that gets you excited or scared because you know you have never felt like this before! " WhOaOOOooo!!! *At that point your either speed wobbling to the hardest run off of your life or your passing roosted boards with a perma-grin!!!!*

Stopped charging after 2 months. Rode about 6 times maybe 3 miles if that. The battery never lasted as long as advertised but that wasn’t a main concern for me as the distances I put on it are minimal. Now I’m out $400 and trying to contact supp for skatebolt and about to contact massdrop. I’ve read reviews about massdrop and I’m not holding my breath. Don’t order this product from anywhere. Also don’t order from massdrop. Customer support is non existent From what it seems like.

Update: So I got the board and soon after, the power button quit working. After a few e-mails with Skatebolt, I sent the board in, they fixed it immediately and shipped it right back out to me and now all is well. So at least the company is helpful so far in repairs but weather in NJ has been so bad this summer and fall, so my riding time is extremely limited. Overall, this is not a bad board. Very strong acceleration and torque, very strong brakes. Good carving, but tighten your trucks way down when you first get your board. The remote is a little touchy with the throttle so most of the time I ride in speed mode 2. It always starts up in reverse, don't ask me why. It is kinda heavy if that matters to you, and a bit on the stiff side for just cruising around but not uncomfortable vs other boards in this price range. Main issue is the design of the deck: in order to open the battery compartment, you have to access the screws by removing the grip tape. This means every time there's a problem, you are replacing grip tape. I advise you to do heavy research on youtube, there are lots of boards out there and lots of reviews out there but your main priority should be to find a board that is easy to work on and maintain. I would say this board is ideal if you need to tackle steep hills and want a high top speed.

First off, this board was a blast to ride while it was working. The acceleration and deceleration curves were really nice: definitely a great beginner board. Or at least it would be.... The advertised range and top speed of the board are not accurate. I got more like 3-5 miles out of a charge and I think the top speed is closer to 20mph. I had the board for almost 2 weeks and then the battery stopped taking a charge altogether so I returned it. On the plus side, I realized that I really enjoyed e-boards and bought an Evolve Bamboo GTX which I can not recommend enough (if you have the cash to fork out).

Board is very fast, stable and well built, however the remote is dinky, and the wrist strap broke within a couple days. I am experiencing problems with the battery, it will only charge to 3 out of 4 bars, and lasts much shorter distance than advertised. Not sure if this is a problem with the battery or charging system. Will be requesting an RMA.
