Just got my first one in the mail. Cutting it down was pretty easy with kitchen scissors.
The grippy-clampy-part doesn't undo as easy as the promo videos show, where they push the belt back into the buckle and it pops, my leather just scrunches up when I imitate the video. So if you want to buckle-swap, keep a butter knife or some other prying tool in your armoire to open the lever. Fine for me, because I only have one set, but I really like this design so I expect to follow my own advice some day.
