What makes these special? I'm not experienced in RGB LED light strips, but there are a lot of similar looking items on Amazon for about half the price. Any help appreciated, thanks.

sMACkCan't answer about this strip but I can comment on the Amazon strips since I have a couple of them already. They require a little remote to control the strip. The remote has on/off controls along with intensity and some fixed color choices. They can also be daisy chained together and run from a single remote. The remote isn't needed to control on/off. You can plug them into a switched outlet and use them just like a lamp if you want to. It looks like this strip is remote free going with Bluetooth only control. Until the other questions above get answers it's hard to tell what other differences there are.
