I got my SML AD18 yesterday and connected it to some fairly efficient speakers. It sounds quite nice and plays plenty loud. The speakers are around 92 dB with 1 watt in. All in all, this seems like a great unit for having on your desktop! While the single control knob will take some time to get comfortable, but it does the job. I was able to access all the features. But, the control knob is a bit loose. I slid off the control knob and verified that the nut holding the shaft in place was quite tight. It is the shaft itself which is a bit loose. Can some of you give your control knob a wiggle and tell me how yours feels? I'm a bit worried how it will hold up over time. Thanks.

netmorinThe one I had, the knob was pretty easy to spin, as in low friction (not sure if that's what you mean by loose). It didn't feel like it was going to fall off, nor did the axis wobble around.

RockyMountainsThe center shaft does wobble off axis. Might be related to my other problem now. The amp will stop outputting sound. The fix is to press in on the knob, change sources to something else and back to aux (which i'm using exclusively for input from another DAC). Sounds comes right back. So, who knows. Lose shaft? Other internal issue? Lucky for me, it doesn't happen too often. Thanks for the response.
