Just hooked this up to a pair of Polk speakers that had been going unused and it's working great. I'm not a big audiophile, but the low profile of this unit made for a great addition to a room where I didn't want to deal with a full size receiver. Mostly I just wanted something that could power my existing speakers and have some input flexibility.
Everything is good EXCEPT the remote doesn't work. In fact, the remote I received isn't the one pictured in the drop nor is it the one pictured in the manual. The remote does appear on the SMSL website when you search for the AD18, but I'm not sure if it is broken or just the wrong remote. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

JP0leHave you tried flipping the battery or putting in a new one? Pressing the A button on the remote will change it to control the amp. Hope this helps.

DobobayThank you so much! It was pressing the A button that solved the problem. The picture in the manual didn't match my button layout so I think I was pressing FN thinking it would swap functions/inputs. Works great!

JP0lethe remote is working, there is a design flaw with the AD18 where plugging the power brick into the wall first and then the AMP will cause a surge or short that kills the AMPs IR reciever, you will see a spark on connecting the AD18. There is no fix for this as im fairly certian it kills the IR reciever, you will need a new AMP. to avoid this allways connect the AMP to the power brick first. then connect to the wall.
