Hey ! Does anyone know how it would behave with powered speakers like lets say .. the JBL LSR30X ? My current setup is a FiiO K5 docking amplifier using my FiiO X3 II as a USB DAC and with the balanced output going straight to the monitors, I would like to be able to use those monitors with my projector as well as with my computer and the only way with my current setup is to have the sound from my projector going to my PC sound card and redirect it to my DAC, which forces me to have my PC on at all times I want to use my monitors, I'm counting on that DAC/AMP to get rid of this issue at the cost of not having balanced outputs anymore, if you have any other ideas your feedback is welcome !

Nico0807i dont think you can use powered speakers with an amp.

Nico0807With powered speakers, you've have to run them through the headphone-out jack on the front of the AD18. The actual amplifier section of this amp would be useless to you. If you're not looking for bluetooth, I think the Schiit Fulla 2 would be pretty ideal for your needs. A much higher quality product, both mechanically and aesthetically.

GeckoDeLimonI was thinking about doing that, the bluetooth was a nice addition as I wouldn't have to have a wire going around my room but it still seems like there is no simple way of having 2 inputs and two outputs, maybe a Magni/Modi/SYS stack ?

Nico0807I would not recommend this for use with the LSR30x. I plug mine into the headphone jack, just to test, and it was a horrid hissy mess. I'm not talking the low his when nothing playing, but major hiss/static even with music playing at high volume. Totally unusable in my experience.
The headphone jack on this is really only ok for IEMs and easy to drive headphones.
You better off just getting a decent DAC to power your JBLs. I use an NFB-11 and have it connecte3d to a Mackie Big Knob Passive ($65 to $70) is offers two inputs and two outputs that are button selectable. Input be is shared with either a dual 6.35mm TS inputs or a single 3.5mm input. I pluged my Mpow BT receiver into the 3.5mm input to test just now and it worked great. just an option for you.

Nico0807Honestly if you wan't it for you JBLs there's no need to spend money on something with a speaker AMP. If you looking to spend around $100 then consider something like a Schitt Fulla 2 or a Micca Origen G2 or iFi nano iDSD LE (something along those lines).

RojasTKDThank you ! I ended up using the non balanced out that is connected to a switch inside of my D5, that way I can chose between using my DAP out as a DAP or as a DAC, and bypass it when connecting the monitors to my projector.

Nico0807not sure what a "D5" is, but glad it lets you enjoy your LSR30x's with out wasting money on something you didn't need. 👍
