Thinking of getting this one or wait for another drop of the Grace Design M9XX? Inputs are much appreciated

vortextubesDo you have a dac/amp now?
I don't know much about this system and there aren't many reviews. It doesn't appear to have a lot of power but I've never heard it so won't say it's no good because of that.
I had the m9xx and while transparent, it was very lifeless to me (was paired with 400i, may have tried my k7xx with it before I sold them). Not my favourite or best value on the collaborations IMO.
At this price I would suggest looking at Audio GD. Admittedly ordering from them is not quite as simple, but they offer great sound at great value. Or save some money and just grab a Modi/Magni if you want to keep it simple.

ehmoraAnother vote for Audio-GD. The process wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be (had an invoice within 24hrs during the week) a few days of processing, then it arrived in about 1 week to my door. Can just be a little hard since they aren't native english speakers, but still nice support

painfulpandaOh ya by no means was it difficult rather just a bit more work than clicking "join drop". It is apparent English is not their first language but I have seen much worse and I agree, they are prompt and responded to every email/question I sent both before purchasing and after receiving my unit.

ehmoraYup, I was just trying to make the point that you would especially recieve the NFB-11 before this even ships, possibly before the drop even ends.

painfulpandaFair point! NFB-11 would be a great option at a lesser price but heck, I got a fully balanced unit that has 30x the power of this SMSL at the same price!

ehmoraOh wow, I wasn't really in the market for this drop anyway, but went and checked the amp specs after this comment. 330mW @ 32 Ohms is pretty wimpy for this (total system) price, IMO. My Magni 2 Uber is rated at 1500mW @ 32 Ohms....
As a Zeosphile, I'll be waiting for his review to come out and see if he mentions that :p

ehmoraWhat unit did you get, if I may ask? I have the NFB as I mentioned and am really looking to go into balanced since most of my headphones already have balanced cables and was looking at the Master 11, but the price is out of my league

vortextubesYou do not need more power than this has. As someone with Fostex TH-900s, K9XXs, Bose QC20s and a pair of "custom-custom" IEMs from Unique Melody, I also am the proud owner of a number of amplifiers turned to zero. Otherwise I'd have zero eardrums.

yiriI'm sure this Panda set has the power I need but this setup will be much higher and bigger in my desktop than the Grace Design. Lucky me, the M9XX is back on the drop :)

ehmoraI live in Southeast Asia and but not from a Chinese-speaking language country and I took my bachelor in the US so ordering from MD is easier task forme.
I am currently using the FiiO E10K for my AKG. It's running fine albeit having to use higher volume for the right listening experience in driving the K7XX. I need a DAC/AMP with multiple inputs and line-outs for my desktop setup. I'll use the E10K for my office laptop when I get the desktop setup that I want. Appreciate so much for the input, feeling the community help in MD even though that may mean spending more of my salary in the site hahaa *thumb* :)
