SkybijYou're welcome. As there is little information about this DAC online atm, I want to do what I can to let people decide if it's the right choice for them. Best balanced DAC that does DSD @ this price IMHO.
SkybijThe ES9038Q2M chips in this sound awesome. I haven't heard the Topping D50, but folks on head-fi are saying they're virtually indistinguishable, sound-wise. Definitely glad I pulled the trigger on this one.
gonzoznogWhat I care most about is whether the DSD file can play properly in ASIO / Native mode. Big noise frequently occurs in Topping D50, DX 7s of the same chip configuration. There is no problem in ASIO / DoP mode.
BuriNo problem with noise during native DSD playback through foobar with asio driver. I love the fact that this thing just plays any format I throw at it and sounds great,
gonzoznogThank you for your prompt response. I am looking forward to the product to arrive.
Although MassDrop is cheap in price, orders from oversea need many days before it arrives. That is annoying to me.
gonzoznog@gonzoznog is there anything on the display or the manual that proves that it does volume control?
If so can we have an image of the display or manual showing volume control.
Also have you notice any pops and clicks with the unit you have any of the inputs?
PCHAN1It does click when changing audio formats. Once the format is detected, you'll hear a few seconds of clicks. After that foobar will play without them until you change format again. I wish it would not happen, but it's not a big deal. It does it whenever I go to/from DSD or FLAC, but doesn't play once the first track is recognized [the format will be listed on the display]. As far as volume control, I can't take pictures atm, but I assure you it does work. Maybe I'll upload some images later this weekend.
gonzoznogI’m more interested in pops and clicks as it plays a track on any format... I had a M8 here a few weeks ago and it sounded like playing vinyl where it would pop at a sequential rate.
So i gather that the volume control works with the remote? If so does the display indicate the level?
Elther way many thanks for your reply., If it does volume, it is a bargain with XLR!
PCHAN1There are no pops during regular playback. That would be unacceptable! And, yes indeed, volume works with the remote and the display indicates the level. [1 to 38 I believe]. Without hesistation, I feel this is a great bargain!
