Seriously!!!The group that chose this kit should have to go out in the woods and try to survive for three days with it. The pack sure has possibilities, but why not put a real kit together using this pack,. to include an emergency blanket, a tarp, a Bic lighter , at least 10 Stormproof matches and striker in waterproof container or package, at least 50 feet of 440 or 550 American made cordage, 50 inches of duct tape, a Trangia Mess Tin (to boil water and to cook food in) a heavy sewing needle, 50 foot spool of Spider wire (80# test) a good quality signal mirror, a Morakniv Knife, a 1oz. bottle of Betadine 10%, (if you are not allergic to iodine five drops will purify a liter of water) two Whirl Pack bags or a 2 Liter Hydrapack bag, a really good AA Flashlight (Olympia, Streamlight, Maglite) None of the cheap garbage flashlights made in China, A good whistle (Acme or ACR) A tealite candle lantern and three spare tea candles (this little lantern placed on the ground between your spread knees and your body wrapped in the emergency blanket will keep you warm in freezing outdoor temperatures, a Shemagh (scarf) and three Butterfly bandages, three standard waterproof band aids, 2 -4x4 gauze pads, and three Cliff Bars all should fit in this bag. And finally if you are an avid Coffee or Tea drinker, couple of instant packs with additives (cream-sugar) would go well the first night. You can use the Trangia kit as a drink vessel, keeping in mind the metal may be hot so allow it to cool before attempting to drink from it. Throw the multi-tool wallet tool in the garbage along with the two plastic cups. I personally would also prefer a titanium Knife-Fork-Spoon set. The Pocket Outdoor Survival Guide is nice but you should buy one and read it before the need arises. You are not John Rambo, or GI Jill so the only mission for you is to survive somewhat comfortably until you are located. And I am willing to bet this kit could be put together and group sold for less than $125.00 with either this bag or a similar model.

ReadyFreddyI was wondering if any of this stuff was covered in the "survival tin" because I also thought how horrible inadequate it is. There isn't even a typical space blanket or emergency rain poncho.

ReadyFreddyI have a feeling this will be a one and done on Massdrop. The $102 original price tag is absolutely absurd and even at $45. This is $20 at best, imo.
