I have a SOG Twitch II and I get a lot of side-to-side blade play in the knife and have decided that I don't like it because of that. How are the Aegis and Mini Aegis by comparison?

theupandcomingcoreyIn my experience with sog knives (which is quite a bit) all of them have some side to side and usually just a little up and down. the zytel handles wear over time and the blade loosens up, my brother in laws flash 2 tanto is around 10 years old and has 1/8 inch play in every direction, but the lock holds and he still carries it. my uncles my, friends, and father in laws full size trident all are over 5 years old and are half beat to hell, but all these guys work hard, engineers, electricians and craftsmen. they care about getting a good knife for cheap that they can abuse and buy a new one when the old one wears out. they are working class knives. i had this exact knife around 2 years ago and it didnt have any blade play. i gave it to my brother when i bought my manix. it is ok to have a little movement in a blade, not like my brother in laws, but a little is ok. i used to shun sog knives because of the blade play, zytel and aus8 steel, but after seeing what my family and friends have put them through, id carry a sog no problem any day of the week, i personally just dont love assisted opening.
TLDR, the lockup on my mini aegis was great!

jeremanThanks, after your info and reading in bladeforum, I think I am going to steer clear of SOG's folding knives. The twitch very much disappointed me, but I have a few of their fixed blades that I really like.

jeremanNah. IMO isf you want cheap soft metals get the Chinese knives. Sanrenmu 7010 is amazing for 10 dollars

theupandcomingcoreyI have the original Seal Pup as well as many other SOG knives before they sold out and started selling their products in fuking Walmart. =( Boooooo!
