Well worth it! Can't find this price on amazon. Maybe not the best steel, but this carbon steel sharpens up wicked sharp.

Really like the knife. Big handle feels good. It's pretty thin for the size, great for carry.

For $20 U.S.D. I am not too worried about the design origins since it is a SOG . Normal warranty applies, and there is an element of quality assurance not normally seen at this price. All in all, a great deal.

$21.50 shipping? Wow, is weight calculated by gram for this drop for shipping? I've just purchased the Kershaw knife with a $11 shipment fee, the old trick of adding more to the shipping costs and making it appear you are saving about $20 is still alive and kicking here on MD unfortunately. The MRSP is $43, with the two totals added together it is $42.49 a grand saving of 51 cents, I thought the idea at MD was everyone coming together to pool their money so we all equally benefit from a lower price, whereby you act as a middleman and negotiate a lower price as regards a one multiple purchase to yourselves, then pass on the saving to the customer. What appears then is happening is one country where customers have purchased from, benefit more than other customers from countries nearer to the $20.99 price drop. I appreciate the price of shipping to different countries is going to vary and am not bemoaning that fact, the conclusion I've come to (And don't know whether i'am correct until I see other shipping costs), is that unless you are using a different shipping company from when I purchased a knife four days ago and the shipping cost was $11 now it's almost doubled to $21.50 for an item with virtually the same size and weight for the exact same journey? Then am I to conclude that this happens to every customer also wherever they reside, or is the higher price as reflected in the cost of shipping a decision you make to subsidise costs in other markets? I feel my queries are valid until I'm informed differently to be fair, as I don't understand such a sharp increase is valid for the same shipping dynamic's, if this is so, what is the point of MD then to the customer if no financial benefits are to be had by all on an equal footing on price as we all contribute to the price together to benefit.

Deathproofbum01A 1 pound package sent first class mail to the EU is $22.50 from our post office. If that seems high it is because other retailers discount the shipping and roll the price into the items markup. I'm not affiliated with massdrop in any way, but am in the shipping industry.

karlthebaerI work for the post-office myself, I was looking at another knife here earlier on and if I recall correctly it was $6.50 shipping, there's such a great disparity between shipping costs. Don't get me wrong, i'am happy like many others that they have found a shipping company willing to ship to countries outside of the US, if there was an overall standardised shipping cost because all things being equal, there's not a whole lot of difference in size and weight between knifes, example, $6.50 $11.50. $21.50, different shipping costs, that's what is making me come to the conclusion that other markets are being subsidised and getting cheaper deals, from the increased cost of posting to other customers in different countries. Everyone puts in together for a cheaper price, and this may not be the case depending which country you reside in that you are getting the same deal because of the inflated shipping rates. This is really just a conclusion, because to be fair I've got no idea of prices elsewhere and could be totally wrong.

I recall seeing SOGzillas having an oval hole that was not "connected" so to speak - where there was a space. Is this a 2nd generation SOGzilla? They must have changed the design.

WavesterI remember this, too. I always thought it was to be some sort of Emerson wave alternative/knock off feature.
