If this is the same as the UBP-X800 then get ready for lockups. I've had mine for probably eight months now and it freezes while streaming YouTube, Netflix, etc. It used to crash so that I had to unplug it to recover, but now it "only" crashes so that I have to wait for full power off and then boot it back up.
I don't watch tons of disc movies in it, but it also crashes on blu-ray and 4K blu-ray as well, though not as frequently as streaming. I've tried firmware updates and factory reset, but it hasn't really fixed it. I've just learned to live with it.
If they fixed the crashing it'd basically be perfect.

QuinnerI have the same player and have had no issues at all, although I don't do any streaming. I also have not watched a lot of movies in it, but I can't remember it ever locking up. I've been pretty happy with mine, use it for 4K and normal BD. Is this an widely known issue?

d3vkitMaybe it was a hardware issue. How long have you had yours? I'll have to try sending mine in on warranty. But from what I saw online it did seem like a lot of people had the same problem with lockups. New firmware updates never fixed it.
Originally I was having to unplug the box from the wall just to get it to reset out of a *lockup. Unacceptable for a $300 machine.

QuinnerOuch that sounds painful. All the reviews I read for it made it sound great. I got mine last fall, maybe November? It had dropped in price a lot by that point, I think it was $150.

d3vkitI think I got mine early summer. It came with a few free 4K movies, and the option for a few cheap 4K movies as well. I think the player itself was $279, but overall I like it. I just wish it was stable for that price.

QuinnerYes, I've had it crash while playing DVDs. Purchased from Massdrop in the last run. Otherwise, a nice player. Different than the OPPO BDP-93, with additional, more current features. The sound is certainly different. Seems a little clearer, but lacks some of the warm midrange. Anyway, my wife and I get frustrated at the crash.

pima1234Yeah, it's a really good machine, but the lockups are so annoying. It's ridiculous that something built almost entirely to play discs would lockup while playing those discs.
