With plenty of smart features packed in an ultra-slim profile, the Sony X930E/X940E 4K Ultra HDR Smart TV is sure to be the focal point in any room. The TV relies on Slim Backlight Drive+ technology, which directs light where it's needed to fill scenes with extra brightness and deep contrast Read More
Mine arrived a couple of days ago, the whole screen was SHATTERED -- the box had a tear on the outside but the inside looks to be fine. Took extreme care unpacking it and everything.
The x930e has been an excellent TV. Love mine, colors are spectacular and hdr content is a dream. However, the slim backlight drive can cause some haloing which could trigger cine/AVphiles. You can use bias lighting to take some of the edge off, but its still prevalent. The remote is garbage, the OTA tuner is weak, android TV is functional but a chore to use, its fun to control w/google assistant though. If you're wall mounting it be warned, it is extremely heavy for such a slim tv, make sure to grab a friend and extra beefy (multiple stud mounting points with good lags bolts) mount for install.
shawnjohnson159I bought the Sony Bravia X900E 65" ... While its a great TV and picture, it's stuck in Wide Mode Full.
sony has three levels of tech support you must go through. Each one equals a one hour phone call with the same hard restart process.
They only thing they care about is the YOUTUBE stats for nerds screen. If the numbers are fine, like in my case; there is no further support.
Some programs on Hulu only show one person of a two person conversation. TOO bad for me says teir two tech Kevin.
We buy, We learn. Wide mode cycle through simply does not work.
( used their app's, my Roku Ultra x3 (bought three different boxes to rule out Roku) and my LG UP875 4K uhd Blu Ray player, all with same result. FUNCTION NOT AVAILABLE.
p.s. Even bought an unwanted / un needed Terrestrial HDTV 60 mile out Antenna, as they said all would work fine if a coax antenna was added. $60 wasted.
But still love the TV
Since discontinued by Sony as a 2017 model. I bought in Jan. 2018.
I'm really tempted on this drop. Rtings.com gives this TV a 8.3 overall, the reviews there are unrivaled by any ratings source for TVs. The TV is heavy though, 90# for the 65" version if that matters to anyone.
I got mine, and man you weren't kidding about this unit being super heavy.
I mounted it high on a wall and it was VERY difficult to heft up above our heads to mount haha.
Absolutely AMAZING image, so happy I got it.
Are these refurbished? I know that Sony recently discontinued this TV because they are pushing the 900F and this one is clearly the better TV. Retail was $2100 on these 3-4 months ago.
Why are they calling it X930E/940E since those are two different TV's?
I have the 55" X930E and love it. It has dolby vision which looks great from my Apple TV which is my only source.
darwinI do agree with you on this. Both TVs have local dimming, but the X930E is edgelit whereas the X940E is Full Array and the description doesn’t make that clear. In fact, at one place it references the X930E 75” which doesn’t exist the X930E is only made in 55” and 65” and the X940E is only made in 75”.
