I am new at this. There only seems to be about 100 dollar savings over Amazon which also provides free two day shipping for Prime members. Am I correct? Also, I had held off on a mirrorless thinking that the viewfinder response time was shall we say, not quite perfected yet. Is that a problem?

Bogarte@Bogarte,
You are correct, we are considerably cheaper! Let us know what kind of camera you are working with now so we can better understand the viewfinder response time your use to.
Cheers!

JaysunI have used traditional SLRs and DSLRs with mirrors. As I recall reading about these new cameras, the issue was the response time of the LCD viewfinder. I have not had the time to review the current reviews. What I was saying that it was only a $100 savings. As I am new to this site I was not sure if that represented the average savings. Thanks

Bogarte@Bogarte Hey! If you don't mind, I'd love to toss in my two cents on this topic. And you can call me biased because I have the little "M" logo next to my username, but this presents a cool opportunity to share why I (and hopefully many others) prefer participating on Massdrop to shopping at Amazon.
Sure, at Amazon you can fork out the extra $100, not see or speak to anyone else, and get the item in two days. But I think what makes Massdrop special is the people and the unique experience. You know that you're getting the absolute lowest price point possible because you and (so far) 25 others are in it together. All passionate about the same product, all eager to learn from others' expertise, all excited to receive the item...together. So at the end of the day it comes down to what you find more important. A cold exchange and $100 less in your bank account or partaking in something together in the name of lowest price possible. :)

Bogarte@Bogarte,
As technology improves, this lag time is becoming shorter and shorter and, in some cameras like this A6000, is already imperceptible. My question should have been "What camera and what type of photography are you accustomed to?" Faster photography styles would cause any lag to amplify but portrait and still photography is a little different when it comes to the lag you speak of. It is a great question and thanks for asking it.
In terms of savings a $100 is substantial when compared to any where else and huge when compared to the M.S.R.P (manufacturer's suggested retail price) . That being said we always want the best deal possible for our community members and we are passionate about that fact.

Tyler@Tyler.HThanks for your reply. I suspect I should clarify something, I fell upon this site quite by accident when my coverman asked me to do some research for him on spinning tops. Neither of us had come upon the site before. I did a little reading and have a better understanding of its purpose which I guess simply put which would betray my coverman's age, is like that of a cooperative...a larger number of people using bargaining power to obtain things closer to a wholesale price. He use to do this sort of thing himself back in the 80s and 90s by creating what he called a universal corporate entity...that is the name was such that nobody had any idea what kind of items were sold! So, he could get just about anything wholesale...well almost :-)

JaysunI think it's fair to say everyone that knows of Massdrop will shop around before buying so people are more aware of prices. If it's cheapest on Massdrop, then people will buy from it, plain and simple.
