Attached is a comparison of all the prices of the a6300 w/ 16-50 Lens Kit vs the A5100, A6000 and A6500 variations.

READ BEFORE BUYING!
After numerous emails to Massdrop, I was provided with clarification regarding how defective/malfunctioning units are handled. This is international spec, meaning there is no warranty provided by Sony, and if the unit does not work properly at any point, Sony will do nothing for you. Additionally, Massdrop does not provide a warranty for this item. So if anything stops working or malfunctions after 30 days have passed, Massdrop will do nothing for you. Not worth buying IMO.
Below is a direct quote from the email I received from a Massdrop representative: "There was no warranty listed on the drop page for the Sony Alpha a6300. This means that it did not include a warranty through Massdrop. Because the camera is International Spec, the manufacturer will most likely not honor its warranty making this camera have no warranty. If a defect became apparent after the 30 day reporting period for this item, we would be unable to offer further assistance."

KTO1Are there any reviews or reports of this happening with any massdrop item? I've been searching for situations and reviews where that played out (international spec camera went defunct after 30 day return window) but I havent found any yet.

When will massdrop clarify international warranty issues? What's the coverage like for Aus? Can we deal with Sony directlY? this is a major buying factor for me

Fair enough. They used to be clearer with this. I recall a Seiko I purchased had a "1 year massdrop warranty", which is sorta referenced here: https://helpdesk.massdrop.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003723748-Do-products-purchased-on-Massdrop-have-a-warranty- Too bad they don't have that anymore.

Generally speaking, if a product has a warranty, or fails within 30 days (for things that don't have a warranty) Massdrop will either replace the unit (if there's inventory) or simply refund the full cost of the purchase.

I bought this from Adorama last summer. Great camera. Fantastic video. good camera, probably the best camera for the money in this range, believe me.

How does "International Spec" affect warranty issues? Do we just contact Massdrop, and then Massdrop contacts Sony? Will we ever be dealing with Sony directly? Is it the coverage in any way different than if it were a US warranty? Looking for a Massdrop representative to answer this; thanks in advance!
