This isn't a very chatty community, is it? Any opinion on whether i should bite on this or save up for the Sony a6000?

bYtockDepends on what you are looking for. Very different cameras. If you want something portable with zoom then this would be a good choice, but it was a much smaller sensor than the Sony a6000

bYtockBest choice you made today my friend! The A6000 is superior in every way. Yes, more expensive but way better. Forget about ultra zoom: learn to shoot well with a prime lens first. I recommend the Sigma 1.4 30mm. It's perfect for the A6000.

I agree with your statement about this camera vs the a6k, but I can't seem to find this lens in E-mount. Do you have a link?
I'm considering buying the HX90v to use as a pocket / ultrazoom replacing an aging HX20.

tw000Here is a video on it compared to the 35mm 1.8, Note that my recommendation is for non-video, as the 30mm Sigma has no OSS... it also has links to Amazon .

Agreed, I have the Sigma 30mm 1.4 and am heading out to do some graduation photos with it right now. First time using it for portraits so I'm interested to see the results. Also have my Rokinon 135mm F2 in case I need more BOKEEHHHH
