The RX100 is a good model but what are your preferences or priorities when it comes to owning a camera? For me a solid zoom is what I require and this is especially useful when I'm far away from the action yet still being able to capture it as though I was right there. I used to own a 20x zoom camera and I believe the Sony HX60 would far exceed my expectations with its 30x zoom capability. RX100 on the other hand, has a 3.6x zoom lens and this was an immediate turn off for me. I have backpacked to quite a few countries across continents and sometimes I get shy or feel embarrassed to whip out my camera in order to get a good close-up of the locals and this was something that propelled me to look for a camera with a formidable zoom function. These are my two cents.
