I ordered my A7II body without a lens. I planned on using adapted a-mount lenses. After reading reviews for this thing though, I quickly found out I had made a mistake. This is one of the better kit lenses ever made. While the variable aperture is nothing special it is extremely sharp.
Really tempted to get this, but the price isn't anything special. Can be found much cheaper grey market on ebay.

EnderIIIAs someone who got this lens with the camera, I will voice a second opinion and say that this lens is subpar compared to other kit lenses. It is not sharp, and does not make good use of the very large sensors of the Sony A7 series. It's slow (ish) to focus, will often miss focus even though it takes its sweet time hunting, and shooting a scene with lots of detail (like a landscape) is just a big no-no as it can't separate finer details at a distance.
