Will anyone help me wrap my head around why MD has gone to this choose 'newest', 'recommended' or 'ending soon' format - is it that they think we can only handle seeing a limited number of products - or perhaps some marketing genius has decided that they must reel our focus in on what they want us to buy. Am I missing something here? Bottom line is that the hassle has dropped my check-ins from daily to weekly - anyone else like or dislike this????

AdamInHiltonHeadIt's all marketing and promotion. There is a push for buzzwords (that anyone that isn't a sucker for advertising) that make things look/sound more attractive/urgent and in turn make you want to buy because of them. If you don't buy into it, then you're likely just going to be annoyed by businesses for the foreseeable future until the next big marketing push happens.

Brosefstalin42_Brose - thx!!! you helped me see an angle that didn't cross my radar - I might have guessed it was simply a nudge to grab a few more takers one the items that were closing - but now I see the 'spin' on using 'recommended'. Otherwise I also thought maybe they were seeking rankings via separate landing pages so to speak. What you didn't bite on though was whether or not you find it less convenient or does a couple extra clicks not bother ya :)
