Received Sony MDR-Z7 and PHA-3.  As noted by DownSouthTx, this equipment comes packaged for either Japan or China, so the accompanying documentation is NOT in English. No way to interpret warranty info or basic instructions (other than pictures). Really would have thought, at $1,200 for the setup, I would have gotten an English version. On the positive side, packaging was in line with pricing (well done). I connected my 5th Gen Ipod Touch to the MDR-Z7 via the unbalanced cable and got great sound. Then I switched to the balanced cables through the PHA-3 and the difference was amazing ... just listen to Zach Brown's "Junkyard" on his Jekyll or Hyde album... totally blown away by the sound. Instrumentals, jazz, classical, bluegrass, picking and solos are all very well reproduced by this rig. Rock ballads and metal are well represented but almost seem ho-hum (really depends on the production quality of the original recording) compared to instrumentals, ect. I prefer my my sound to be neutral, so extra bass is not an issue; Hip-hop and Rap lovers will have to decide on their own if this setup works for them. Aside from the issues related to warranties and documentation language, I am very impressed with this Sony setup. Please be professional enough to provide the English/USA version for Massdrop customers!
