It's portable in that it is small and can be placed in a bag, but from what I can tell there is no internal battery.

YakovActually, scratch that. You're right.
" bought this thinking it was a 'wireless' speaker as staded in the title, however it is not! You need to have the a/c cable plugged in at all times else it will not power on "

YakovHowdy Everyone,
This product does seem to have an internal rechargeable battery. It is listed on the Sony website as having that feature. https://www.sony.com/electronics/wireless-speakers/srs-zr7/specifications I will research this more as @Yakov's experience shows us otherwise.
Update: @Yakov thank you for letting us know about this. This product for sure does not have a battery even though its listed on their site. I have updated the specs section. Thank you!
Cheers.

YakovYeah, oddly misleading marketing from Sony. on this page: https://www.sony.com/electronics/wireless-speakers/srs-zr7/specifications

It seems that in the "Internal Rechargeable Battery" category, where they would normally put the battery specs, they say "AC power adapter" instead. That seems to be where the confusion comes from.
