I thought the price was going to be $399 not $439. Not a great deal but a good deal. Sony had it for $499 plus sales tax which would be $30 for me and I think shipping. I think Consumer Reports rated it the best of the ones it tested last month. It has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Definitely not worth spending more money for the new model.

so, are there no difference with X9 and X99 aside from Chromecast and LDAC Bluetooth available on X99?

I've been lusting after the SRS-X9 since it's launch, and I would have jumped on the drop if I didn't already buy some decent Bluetooth speakers. But at this point, I am looking towards the SRS-X99 with Google Cast integration, as Bluetooth still feels a bit limiting when I'm moving around the house. Sonos is expensive but they did it right with Wifi streaming. Only hope more manufacturers catch on with things like Google Cast (I know there's proprietary AirPlay and DLNA, but none have worked as well as Google Cast so far).

Price is great, but thinking a lot on it since it's certainly not as easy as a buy for international buyers with the shipping and tax costs. Otherwise, great to see it here!

you got to be kidding me- if you look you can find even cheaper prices than what is offered here- on all the items- and still get 1st quality on most- the bigger saving here are low quality goods that you can find on ebay or aliexpress- and they don't have everything you could want...

seems like it is definitely worth the price if it makes it to the lowest drop! just a heads up though, it's currently on sale on sony's website for $499.

Man, this is one drop I'll be joining in a few sec. I already own the SRS -X5 & the SRS -X7 and love both. The X5 is ultra portable and has great sound with its rear-firing subwoofer. The X7 may be closed back, but it is filled with connectivity options which are very useful when using it as a stationary home speaker. And with the build quality of Sony, this should be another top notch product.

FWIW, this item is sold out on Amazon now and only available for about $549 + tax elsewhere. This drop would have been quite the deal after all. That is, assuming one wanted this item at all. Oh, well. Thanks to Danny and Massdrop for putting this up!
