One day my SOTO micro Regulator that I bought used became defective. I emailed the company and they sent a new one to my door in two days. No questions asked and didn't even want the old one back. The new one has been dependable and reliable for years. It is light weight, good on fuel, it never fails to light and it works well in the cold. I have the optional windscreen for it but rarely need to use it. This is a well made solid stove for backpacking and outdoor adventures.

SnaggletoothCould you tell me if this stove can be effectively used on simmer.

AtmakoIt can simmer effectively as low as 180° until you run out of fuel, no problem keep it low. I would recommend the optional windscreen for simmering. What are you looking to do with it? https://www.campsaver.com/soto-micro-windscreen.html

AtmakoI have this stove and it simmers very low. I was able to bake biscuits in an aluminum baking dish held in a titanium pot while backpacking. There was just a bit of browning on the bottom, nothing burnt and they baked perfectly. If there is a bit of wind it can blow out when on really low so check it periodically and try to shield it from the wind. Also, use the separate windscreen when simmering.
