There's something weird about the measurements and i'm not referring to the chest sizing that you have to multiply by 2 in order to get the circumference.
Going to the Soul Star's site ( https://www.soulstarclothing.com/premium/gilly.html ) you can see that the actual measurements differ from massdrop's size chart.
Any official clarification or any input on this matter would much appreciated before the drop ends.
Many thanks
FuzztapeHi there! These are the actual garment measurements from the spec pack directly from the vendor's factory contacts. Each garment that Soul Star makes has its own sizing chart -- the ones you see on their site are generic and meant to apply to as many garments as possible, but they are not specific, and these souvenir jackets aren't yet featured on their site.
Thanks for your interest on this drop and hope this helps!
I'm a little confused with the sizing... who has a 24" chest... I'm a fairly skinny person that typically gets S or XS jackets and my chest measures 34"
That's not how chest sizing works, tho... That would mean the smallest size is roughly 42" for the chest. Even other jackets on this site have around the chest sizing. Like for this (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-peak-merino-hoodie) drop the small starts at 38. Does that mean these run huge?
excalibruhSizing charts vary from vendor to vendor and as an industry standard you can see just as many chest measurements taken flat across chest as you can see full circumference ones.
In the case of the merino hoodie you listed the size S for example measures 39" in circumference that is to say it fits someone with roughly around a 36" inch chest with 3 inches of allowance for movement -- quite a standard measurement.
And yes, that means that these run a bit roomy in the smaller sizes (due to the raglan sleeve construction) but actually a bit on the smaller side of things in the bigger sizes (i.e. an XL in the US usually tends to fit someone with a 44" inch chest plus 3 inches of allowance it should be closer to 47).
