Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how will the warranty work on this? As I am in Australia and Soundmagic is unknown brand here ( only few might ) Many say they are not anywhere near HD650, has anyone used them?

SilverstrikeHi,
Buddy not doubting these cans, but warranty and after sales.... Actually I am confused between philips fidelio l1 or these cans. L1 have a lot of reviews .... Price is similar right now, any help appreciated. You know what I still haven't received my akg q701 from massdrop!!!

HarsainWHAT?? You did not receive your AKGs yet? Thats sad.
If i had to buy a kickass headphone, it would be the Phillips Fidelio X1. The L1 is semi-closed and this actually is causing some problems in openess of the sound. See the youtube review for it by 'Lachlanlikesathing'.
There seems to be some thing which holds the L1 back from singing and so its not the best of the fidelio series to buy. Sound isolation is also not upto par.
For Fidelio series, its either X1 or M1. But if you are bent upon L1, i suggest waiting for a bit and pick up the L2 which is either already launched or going to launch soon. Hope this helps.

SilverstrikeThanks a lot for your reply. I have contacted massdrop, they have advised me to wait till Monday and then they will resend them.
I have seen the YouTube review but the other side is innerfidelity who is in all praises for l1 and even has l1 on the wall of fame.

HarsainHmm Warranty issue still unclear. I read from amazon reviews that SoundMagic requires the owner to send back the headphone to the place of purchase. How does Massdrop handle situation like this?

HarsainI'm sorry to say so but the L1 is really nothing special. Great design and comfort but not impressive sound.
Haven't heard the HP200 yet so I can't compare them but for the money there's a lot of better alternatives than the L1.

HarsainYeah, I'm a collector as well owning over 50 headphones and IEM's.
I see you've got the ue6000 and so do I. If you enjoy them you might actually enjoy the L1 as well. They've both got recessed mids, lack of clarity and rolled if highs in my opinion, the ue6000 got more bass though. They're both OK for watching movies on flights but not much more IMHO.

peter123Hey how do you manage 50 headphones? That's really amazing. What do you think about UE 9000 and NAD VISO HP50 'room feel' headphones?

SilverstrikeSorry haven't heard either of those. If I'm not mistaken ue9000 sound identical to ue6000 that I don't like very much.

Harsaindude. no offense, but please stop wasting all your money on so many different low-end budget mid-fi headphones!!! their sound quality is all about the same, just slightly different flavors of sound frequency. you've wasted more than $1,500 (current sale price) to $3,000+ (msrp value) on all those different budget mid-fi headphones. those headphones lose 50% of their initial MSRP value after 1 year on the market. you really should just have just spend all that money into a legit high-end flag ship luxury $1,000+ headphones (HD800, T1, HE560, HE-6, TH-900, LCD-3, etc). You could even afford a super fancy amp/dac. legit you only have ONE pair of ears.

money4me247Hmmm can't agree - I have a pair of HD800 and also AKG Q701 (bought from here) - the HD800 are too good to take around the house/out and about but I still like the sound signature - hence the AKG Q701 - also I wanted a more 'fun' sounding less neutral headphone so was going for these (until order cancelled) - who is to say what is a waste of money - different headphones also suit different music types and also different headphone amps - no such thing at the 'best' headphone or 'best' amp the HD800 sound stunning on some amps and crap on some others - same with the q701. You only have ONE set of ears but do you really want to take your $1500 headphones $1000 dac/amp on holiday with you?
