I got the 8 piece set. The tools are well made and slim with no sharp edges. The case is real leather and also well made. Because they're slim they're easily slipped into a pocket without making an obvious bulge. My only issue with them is that I got them to learn with so was spending a lot of time holding the tools and the slim handles became uncomfortable after a while. THis isn't much of a problem once you get better at it, and a bit of heatshrink on the handle can make a big difference without making them too bulky.
This isn't the fanciest set of picks I've ever used, but it is of reasonable quality, and they do not feel as though they're going to break or flimsy at all. I am not gentle with them and I haven't noticed any signs of wear.
I bought these awhile ago so I could learn to get into my dorm since I was constantly forgetting my keys. I also used this knowledge to help remove the padlock on the back gate of my grandparents new house that they did not have a key for so they could replace it. It was hard to justify the purchase to my parents, since they just assumed I wanted it for nefarious purposes, but I have been a fan of the Lock Picking Lawyer on youtube for years and I wanted to try my hand at some of the puzzles he talks about. I have also helped multiple friends who got locked out of their apartment.
This was my first set of picks and paved the way for my understanding of what I want and what I should look for. These were built well and I never felt like I was going to snap or bend one of my picks. The only thing that I noticed that due to my limited skill if I remained too long on a lock or kept practicing for too long the slim profile would end up digging into my hands. It would cause some minor irritation and soreness but pretty good for the price nonetheless.
Don't know much about picks, but these were perfect for what I wanted
I really wanted these to learn how to pick locks (for fun) and to keep on hand for when I have accidentally locked myself out of something. They have served both purposes perfectly. I learned how to pick locks on a bunch of padlocks I collected from my house and hardware stores, and I used them to help my friend unlock their lock box after they lost the key.
