@sw126687 The wool is quite stretchy, so I wouldn't worry about sleeve length being a problem. I'm 5'10" 195 lbs. 42" chest and own size L in these. I usually wear 16.5 34/35 in my dress shirts and these sleeves are a little long for me in the cardigan. Not overly long mind you, but not 100% perfect so they would fit a taller guy for sure.
They are very nice guys.

marker2037Do the large size cardigans fit you snugly? i.e. when buttoned up it hugs your body but not skin tight. I'm of a similar weight but am slightly shorter than you and wear 16, 34 for my dress shirts so I was wondering if i should take the same size or go for the medium.

EliPYes, they fit snugly but not skin tight. I would go with the large if you wear 16 34.

Getting harder and harder to find 100% wool garments for less than $100. Don't really need one of these at the moment, but would definitely buy if I was in need.

ChurchillWKinda late but Uniqlo has really nice Merino wool sweaters for like $50CAD. If you live near one I would definitely recommend going and checking out their store, really high quality for a good price.

Exactly how large is the XXL? I am 6'2" and 300 lbs. Even when I was thin (200 lbs), I often had to go XXL over XL because of sleeve length. That said, some of my current clothing fits at XXL. I say this because the sleeve length listed makes no sense (XXL sleeve should be 36-37, not 26). How do these compare to shirt sizes (say a 17" neck and 36" sleeve)? Can anyone provide advice regarding how to evaluate the sizes listed? Is there a sweater dimension guide available somewhere?

SkipPpHi! S&M confirm the sleeve measurement is from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. Hope this helps. Also, please see the Spier & Mckay sizing info below: https://www.spierandmackay.com/size-guide

SkipPpThe only way these sleeve lengths make sense is if they are measured from the top of the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. To equate it to dress shirt sleeve length, you would add half of the width between the shoulders. So for the XXL that would be (18.9/2 + 26) or about 35.5".
I'm 6'2" and about 180 lbs with a 40" chest. My dress shirts are normally a 16" neck, slim fit, with ideally a 34.5" sleeve. One of these sweaters in M (to fit my chest) will be way too short in the sleeves. Even if I step up to L, the sleeves are still an inch too short. XL would have long enough sleeves but would fit my torso like a circus tent. Based on the specs, I just don't think these are made for tall and/or slightly lanky guys.
