had earlier posted about how nice this watch looks & what a great price, but bemoaned the miyota 8215 movement in it, tho at this price it's a deal. well, i had ordered an actual citizen diver recently and it too has the 8215 in it. their new diver has such a great case i couldn't resist. well, i've developed new respect for the movement. the accuracy is superb out the door. it DOES have that unfortunate second hand stutter or slight pause when shaken moderately (because the seconds hand is not directly connected to the drive train)...it does not threaten the movement but will pause it for a microsecond. aside from that drawback, i do like this movement much. another point is that i have the NH35 seiko hacking/winding movement in a lot of watches, love it, but it too is lowbeat at just over 21,000 bpm, and THIS 8215 movement will appear to be beating more like a higher beat movement. something with the gearing, nothing more than an appearance thing, but if you like a bit more magical sweep to the seconds hand, to me this movement gives it.
the design of this watch is stellar and if i hadn't blown my budget for watches until the next presidential election, i'd definitely get this. the price here is significantly less than on the cahill website, and these seem not to be available elsewhere. i better get off of here before i purchase the dang thing! NOTE: the link to a review is great but wrongly states the watch will not wind, it does. it does not hack, tho the hack for not hacking with seikos and this movement is to slightly rotate the minute hand backward as if moving in reverse to set, it will pause the seconds hand...a rough hack for hacking.
